How To Make Your Own Christmas Alphabet Letters And Numbers With Cricut?
You can see in the images below all of the design space images I used for this project. As this is a Christmas Holiday project I searched for Christmas, Holidays, Candy Cane, Skates and Snow to decorate my Cricut alphabet letters.
I used Soiree Lettering there is a choice of styles, however I prefer the open font for cutting and creating alphabets.
Don’t be put off if you like a layered image in Cricut Design Space. It’s so easy to ungroup the image and use one element.
Once you have images that you are happy with and want to use in your Christmas Alphabet, start to build the letters up. It helps visually to do this all in one or two colours as you get a better idea of how the image is going to build.
Resize and group your images to create your Cricut Holiday Alphabet Letters until you are happy with the final look, then weld the project together.
If you notice any mistakes on any of your letters then click undo immediately. This is the only way to undo weld in Design Space. There is no undo button once you have completed another action so its important to act quickly.
Also watch for images filling in if they are overlapping. If this happens undo the image immediately and move the elements so they don’t overlap.
Can These Free Christmas Alphabet Letters Be Used On All Cricut Machines?
Yes, I cut the images on this page on the Cricut Maker and the Cricut Joy to check they cut well with thin card stock.
Due to the intricate nature of some of the elements if you are planning to cut the the holiday letters smaller simply hide some of the contours or trickier cuts. However I also find that intricate cuts cut well onto vinyl.
Cutting The Christmas Holiday SVG, PNG Cricut Letters.
When you send the project to the Cricut Machine to cut ensure you use the brayer to roll the paper, vinyl or card to the cutting matt.
Also make sure you set the material and cut pressure correctly to match the material you are cutting for a cleaner cut.
If you are using a Cricut Joy, use smart vinyl its so much easier.
Once the cut has finished, discard the outer area of the paper/ vinyl this pulls away easily.
Now lift a corner or each letter with tweezers, the letter will then lift away in one piece. Use the weeding tool to remove any areas that need gently weeding or removing.
