How To Make Your Own Alphabet Letters For Autumn With Cricut?

You can see in the images below all of the design space images I used for this project. As this is an autumn project I searched for vines, maple, leaves and pumpkins to decorate my Cricut alphabet .

I used Soiree Lettering there is a huge choice of styles, however I prefer the open font for cuts and creating.

Don’t be put off by layered images in Cricut Design Space as you simply weld them together to create one solid image autumn alphabet image. However if there is an element of that image you don’t want, ungroup first.

choose elements you would like to use in your alphabet design

Once you have images you are happy with all the elements start to build the image up. It helps visually to do this all in one colour, this way the overall image gels better.

Make all your elements of you cut file one colour to help you build it visually

Resize and group your images to create your Cricut Autumn Alphabet Letters until you are happy with the final look, then weld the project together.

If you notice any mistakes on your letters then click undo immediately, this is the only way to undo weld in Cricut Design Space. There is no undo button once you have completed another action.

Watch for images filling in if they are overlapping, if this happens simply undo immediately and move the elements so they do not overlap.

Can These Free Autumn Letters Be Used On All Cricut Machines?

Yes, I cut the images on this page on the Cricut Joy with a thin card stock. I lost one of the finer maple leaves because of the delicate nature of the leaves. However the rest of the cut was perfect. This will not be a problem when cutting larger on the Maker and Explore.

This did not effect the image as it was only 1 tiny element I lost. Cutting on the joy with vinyl would be no problem at all, as projects like this cut much easier onto vinyl.

Cutting The Autumn/Fall Cricut Letters.

When you send the project to the Cricut Machine to cut ensure you use your brayer to roll the paper, vinyl or card to the matt.

Make sure you set your material and cut pressure correctly to match the material you are cutting.

If you are using a Cricut Joy, use smart vinyl.

Once the cut has finished, discard the outer area of the paper/ vinyl this pulls away easily.

Now lift a corner or each letter with tweezers, the letter will then lift away in one piece. Use the weeding tool to remove any areas that need gently weeding and removing.

  1. So beautiful, I used the D for a pumpkin for my daughter. Was a little difficult getting it onto pumpkin but all in all we got and it looks great! Any suggestions to make it easier.

  2. Hello, I do not see a way to download the Fall letters. When I save the individual letters and then try to upload them to the Design Space, it will only let me utilize the files as “print and cut” when what I want is to use them as cut files. I was successfully able to download and use the Christmas letters but you had a “download here” button. I am sorry to ask for help but I would really like to use these letters but I can’t figure out how. Thank you for any help you can give
