Birthday Cake Topper Number Templates For Cricut

22nd April 2020 by SarahJChristie 20 Comments

I have been thinking lately how you can make a birthday cake a little bit special with your Cricut Machine. Especially as the latest cake trend seems to be simple iced sponges. These of course are so simple to make at home, or indeed buy off the shelf. Yet a pretty cake topper can make all the difference and make a cake look more personalised and special.

How To Cut These As Cake Toppers On A Cricut

When you are cutting these numbers or the happy birthday lettering for a cake, open in design space connect your images and weld them together.

Once welded duplicate your image and then mirror one of the images. This way you will have two identical images to connect back-to-back. Thus your chosen colour, metallic card etc will be visible from all angles.

Mirror topper to ensure you can back to back the image and have a double sided image

How To Construct Your Cake Topper

Connect your paper cuts back-to-back with superglue using tweezers, ensuring you glue 1 or 2 straws or wooden dowels in between the layers.

If you use straws you can then add wooden dowel into your cake and place the straws over the tops to secure your cake topper.

Can I personalise These Cake Toppers?

Yes they are simple to personalise in Cricut Design Space by simple welding a name or images to the cut file, such as this space rocket.

Hi Trudy, this must be a DSP glitch as it worked yesterday and I have just spent an hour trying to no avail, I am so sorry I am at a loss what to suggest apart from manually dragging it in to a new project from the images on my page. I have emailed Cricut about the issue, Thanks so much for making me aware, Sarah
