How To Upload Your Eid Letters And Numbers To Cricut Design Space
Choose your Eid Letter PNG of SVG files, SVGs upload to design space easier than PNGS which need a few extra steps, but in the grand scheme of things still take no time at all.
Uploading Your Eid SVG, PNG Files To Cricut Design Space.
Click on upload image in the bottom of the left hand side bar, this will open a window, select browse and choose the files, which will most probably be in your download folder.
If you are uploading a PNG, you will be brought to a window with options, select complex file, then continue. The next window allows you the take the back off of your file, but I have done this for you.
When you reach the save screen click save as a cut and continue. Do this one by one until you have all of your chosen letters and numbers. Once this is done, you can select all the letters you have uploaded and pull onto your mat in one go.
How To Make Your Eid Cake Topper In Cricut Design Space
I have provided you with all the elements you will need for this cake topper in the download pack. Once you have decided on the Eid numbers or letters you are going to use size the letters and duplicate them. Now remove the contours of any duplicated letters, being mindful that if you have a round letter or number such as o, 0 or d you will want to keep the centre open.
Once this is done, layer the letters and group them together, this will help when you move the letters around the canvas and project.
Next, size the Mosque, layer and create a back for the lantern with the offset method, before layering over the mosque. Now right click and select all, before clicking offset, this will create an offset over the whole layer.
After this, add the moon, create a small offset and then select all and create an offset over the whole project. Before adding any stars to decorate your cake topper, I also created small offsets for my stars the create more layers.
Cutting Your Eid SVG Alphabet Letters And Numbers On Cricut For Eid Craft Projects
Before cutting ensure you have all of your colours ready, I chose a combination of card stock and glitter to add to the layers.
When you send your Eid Letters and Numbers SVG/PNG files to your Cricut to cut, ensure you use your brayer to roll the paper, vinyl or card to adhere to the mat. Movement will affect the cut.
When your Cricut has finished cutting, discard the outer area of the paper/ vinyl this pulls away easily.
Now lift a corner of your letter with tweezers, the letter will then lift away in one piece. Use the weeding tool to remove any areas that need gently weeding and removing.
Alternatively, flip the mat over and reverse weed, if find this works better as you are able to bend the mat slightly and gently peel the letters away.
Cricut Paper Cutting Trouble Shooting
Your Cutting Mat Not Being Sticky Enough
If your cutting mat has debris on it, or has lost its stick then your card could come unstuck or slide part way through your cut. There are some useful suggestions here on how to re-stick your mat.
Smart vinyl is a great option for making vinyl decals on the Cricut Joy, check out how I made a large vinyl wall decal with the Cricut Joy.
Debris On Your Cutting Blade
If your blade is blunt or has debris on it then it will not cut cleanly, check your blade before cutting.
Building Your Cake Topper
Starting by using glue, to attach the offet back layers to the letters, stars and lanterns. Then build your Eid cake topper from the back forwards using sticky pads, I use a variety of sizes to Mae it easier.
It’s a bit like a jigsaw puzzle, building each layer up visually using Cricut Design Space as a guide. When you are happy flip the cake topper over and glue a straw to the back.
