Make An Easy Christmas Card
Using a Merry Christmas from Cricut Design Space Images, Nuvodots and two colours of Glitter Card Stock (This card stock from We Be Crafty is beautiful, cuts well and the colours are stunning) I created a quick and easy Christmas card. Scroll down to see how to create a back file in Cricut Design Space.
Create Elf Napkin Holders For Christmas Eve Or Christmas Day Dinner
It is so easy to make these napkin holders, simply glue the outer areas of the top layer only so you can pop your napkin and cutlery in, then add a candy cane and some greenery.
How To Make A Background For Your Elf Hat SVG In Cricut Design Space
To create a background for your Elf SVG simply duplicate the file, select one of the layers and click the contour tool which is located in the bottom right corner. A box pops up, now click hide all contours and you will have a solid back layer.
Of course you can choose to just remove certain elements and work with multiple layers for a multi coloured layered file effect.
Cutting Your Christmas Elf Hat SVG Cut File
When you send your Christmas Elf Hat SVG/PNG files to your Cricut to cut, ensure you use your brayer to roll the paper, vinyl or Glitter card to adhere to the mat. Movement will affect the cut.
Also organise your coloured layers before hand if you are using a back file, thus you can feed in order and get the colours right. for this projects I used Glitter Card Stock for both layers in different colours and it worked so well.
If your cutting mat looses its stickiness this will affect the quality of cut. Also make sure your mat is in good condition, this is vital for cutting intricate cuts.
Additionally, set the material and cut pressure correctly to match whatever materials you’re cutting to guarantee a clean cut. If you have any problems cutting check the mat, pressure and material settings as generally this is where the problem will lie.
Once your layers are cut simply attach them together. I find it works to use corresponding colours for each hat to mix it up a little.
