Printable DIY Mini Bunting With Free Download

I wanted to share my latest little Cricut home project, its a quick and easy project that can be print and cut on a Cricut or indeed cut out by hand. All you need to make my Printable DIY Mini Bunting is a pair of scissors, printer, string and sticker paper and you have beautiful DIY Mini Bunting.

Today I am also going to share how to make your own bunting in Cricut Design Space, of course you are welcome to use my free DIY Mini Bunting Download. But this tutorial will take you through choosing your own colours and patterns for a totally bespoke design to match your party of home decor.

You Will Need

How To Design DIY Mini Bunting

Start for choosing a triangle in shapes, you will find this is the left hand bar. Click on the corner padlock of the triangle and unlock, this will enable you the drag the triangle a little longer, thus creating a bunting shaped flag.

Now duplicate the triangle and flip the duplicate image, now position together, right click and weld the images together.

Flip the copy, position and weld both halves together

To colour your flag click fill, choose print and pattern. You can now choose a fill pattern and duplicate your flag until you have 6 copies. Put 5 to one side and change the pattern on flag 6, duplicate and repeat until you have enough flags for your project.

To edit a chosen pattern click edit pattern on the bottom left corner of the pattern box. Here you can change, rotate and scale the pattern to fit your project.

Click on edit pattern to increae or decrease the size of your pattern

Lastly arrange the flags together, click on attach on the bottom right corner and attach them to save space on the cutting mat. This enables you to control white space and wastage on the cutting mat.

However if you don’t want to make your own flags, simply scroll down to grab by template.

How To Cut Out My DIY Mini Bunting Stickers?

Cut Out By Hand

Open the PDF file and send to the printer. Use a guillotine to cut each sticker out into squares, or free hand and cut around every sticker individually.

Or Alternatively Cut As A Print And Cut Project On Your Cricut Machine

To do this click new project and upload in the left hand bar at the bottom.

Click on upload image and select browse.

Choose your PNG files, there are 2 separate sheets, you will have to do one at a time.

How to upload stickers to Cricut Design Space

Select complex file from the options, then continue.

Now choose print and cut and save to save your diy mini bunting to design space.

Choose your image and press insert, the image pulls in quite large, simple drag smaller on choose the image size 6.553 by 9.237 this was the largest I managed to get mine to fill more page. However you can go smaller if you want your stickers to be smaller.

You can now send your project to print, before cutting on your Cricut.

A Few Useful Tips And Hints For Using Cricut Print And Cut

  • To save time calibrate your printer before using with you Cricut.
  • Load your paper the correct way into the printer. Obvious I know, but I have made that mistake many times.
  • When you cut these flag make sure you load them into your Cricut in the same direction as design space dictates or the cut will be wrong.

How To Construct Your DIY Mini Bunting

Simple fold each flag over the string leaving a tiny gap in between each flag to allow movement. Cut to the required length leaving enough string on each end to tie a knot to attach your bunting.
