Uploading Files To Glowforge

If you’re cutting on Glowforge, make sure you upload the SVG file for the sign, you are unable to cut PNG files, ( However can engrave with PNG files.) Simply click the + sign in the top bar, choose upload and select your Hello Kitty file. Now drag the file to the correct size and click on the image to select cut.

How To Make A Wooden Hello Kitty Monogram With Glowforge

Start by uploading a letter or number your choice to the Glowforge design area, as you upload your Hello Kitty file, also add the Walnut to your Glowforge.

Once loaded you will see the image via the camera on your desktop. You can now drag the file to size. To cut the file click the tiny image in the left hand bar and choose cut, now send your project to print, it will take around 3 minutes to cut. When its ok to do do so, remove your Hello Kitty Monogram from your Glowforge and remove the protective covering.

How To Make A Hello Kitty Shaker Cake Topper With Cricut And My SVG

What You Need

• 12×12 Glitter Card
• 12×12 Card Stock or Foil Poster Board
• Foam Tape
• Heat Resistant Acetate 
• Cricut Tools
• Blue and Green Cutting Mat
• Glitter
• Cricut Maker 

Create And Size Your Shaker Cake Topper In Cricut Design Space

To create your Hello Kitty shaker cake topper simply upload a letter or number of your choice to Cricut Design Space, once uploaded you want to create 6 layers like below, plus 2 the acetate layers or pockets. The back 2 layers are slightly offset to create a layered effect, the from four have contours removed.

To create a contour duplicate the top layer and click contour in the bottom right corner before clicking remove all contours. This will then remove all some or all contours.

Decide which area you want to be your shaker, duplicate layer 2 and use a square to slice out the area. If you cut this in acetate this will create a small acetate layer. The aim is to create a double layered acetate pocket with foam to house the glitter but also be see-through. You will want a front and back for each glitter pocket.

Send the layers to be cut. When you click ‘Make It’ to send your project to cut design space will arrange the different colours into mats, it’s important to note which is which, to get your cuts on the correct materials.

Building The Hello Kitty SVG Shaker

To build your Hello Kitty Shaker flip the second layer over and sticky pads to to attach to the back layer, repeat this with layer 3.

Now flip over layer 4, use the sticky foam tape to tape around the shaker pockets ensuring there are no gaps for the glitter to escape before adding the glitter and sticking on the top acetate layer. This will encapsulate the glitter and prevent it from escaping. Now attach to the back of layer 4 before flipping and attaching to layer 3 with sticky pads.

Flip the cake topper over and use a glue gun the attach a straw to the back.

Now use sticky pads to attach layers 2 and 1. You can also add Nuvo Dots to add a little detail. Also check out my Hot Air Balloon Shaker Cake Topper.
