I have talked about Las Vegas before. But always get the same reaction when I talk about visiting Las Vegas with kids and teens. So I thought I would share a few things we have learnt as a travelling family and also offer a few suggestions of what to do in Las Vegas in the day with teens. Including planning you itinerary and filling out and organising your Esta Application.
Because if you get it right, Las Vegas is a wonderful place to visit, there is so much to see besides the night life and gambling. We spent a week there and didn’t touch on half of what we wanted to do. It’s a trip our boys still talk about, and they both agree that they would love to return.

What Is An Esta Application And Do I Need One To Take My Family To Las Vegas
An Esta is a form you complete to gain approval to visit the USA. It’s not a visa but a way of vetting visitors visiting the United States without the need for a visa.
Once your Esta is approved it is valid for 2 years, and allows you to visit for periods up to 90 days at a time.
Every member of your party must have their own Esta no matter their age.
What To Do In Las Vegas During The Day With Teens
Watch The Fountains At The Bellagio
The fountains at the Bellagio are spectacular. Although if you are traveling with younger children I would suggest taking ear defenders as the fountains are pretty loud.
That aside, the fountains are something I could never tire of watching. The boys were totally blown away the first time they watched them and asked to return several times during our trip. As they are choreographed to many different pieces of music, from classical to popular music you can see many different displays during your time in Vegas.
The Fountains Of Bellagio Show Runs;
- Monday to Friday, every 30 minutes from 3pm to 8pm and every 15 minutes from 8pm to midnight.
- Sundays the show starts at 11am and runs every 30 minutes until 7pm then every 15 minutes until midnight.
- Saturdays and Holidays from noon every 30 minutes and every 15 minutes at from 8pm to midnight.
Visit The Conservatory At The Bellagio
The conservatory at the Bellagio is a 14,000-square-foot floral playground which is set to a theme, that has you not knowing where to look first. We were lucky enough to see the Harvest theme, every little detail was simply stunning. Check out the website to get an idea of other seasonal displays. This is not something to miss, it really is very beautiful.
The conservatory is free of charge,! Top tip; Don’t forget to look up when you are walking through the lobby!
The current theme at the Conservatory at the Bellagio
Is the Japan Journey: Magical Kansai.
Ride A Gondola At The Venetian
The theming at the Venetian Hotel is simply extraordinary. Your singing gondolier will take you on a tour of Las Vegas’s very own Grand Canal. As you float along you will notice that the inside feels outside with the real time room that reflects the time of day.
It’s also a great idea to wander the Italian themed streets along the canal side, and maybe stop for a pizza.
Gondola Rides At The Venetian Cost
Shared Gondola (Seats Four): $29.00 – $39.00 per person depending on the time of year.
The Gondola Opening Hours Are
Indoor Sunday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Friday – Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.

Go To The Top Of The Stratosphere
Discover spectacular 360° views of The Las Vegas Strip and beyond. Standing at an incredible 1,149 feet high. The SkyPod at The Stratosphere is the highest free-standing observation tower in the United States.
Additionally if your teens are dare devils, there are also 3 crazy thrill rides that take you over the edge of, or higher than the observation level.
Admission to the observation deck is $20 the rides are extra. However after allowing Jack to take the X Scream last time we visited, I am not sure my heart could take that fear ever again.
Check Out The Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N At Treasure Island
Forget the kids, I LOVE IRON MAN! Yes, I am that parent who is the total Marvel geek. This attraction was not open last time we visited Las Vegas with our kids. However it is on the list for our next trip.
This is an interactive exhibit, where you get to see all the Iron Man suits and find out lots about The Marvel Characters.

See The Light Show At The Paris, And Climb The Eiffel Tower
The light show inspired by the Eiffel Towers very own light show in France. It’s a free attraction and runs every 30 minutes from sunset to midnight.
This half scale of the iconic French icon is 46 stories high, the observation deck is a great place to take in the views of Vegas. Being centrally located on the strip this is a fantastic vantage point.
Tickets to the observation deck cost $50 per family of 2 adult and 2 children up to the age of 12 for daytime admission up till 6pm, and $70 for anytime between 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. Over the age of 12 youths pay the adult price.

Take A Helicopter Ride To The Grand Canyon, This Is A Must When Considering What To Do In Las Vegas During The Day
We decided this would be a once in a lifetime experience, thus decided to go on the best tour we could find. We decided on the Maverick Helicopter landing in the Grand Canyon.
This took us from The Strip to The Grand Canyon, taking in the Hoover Dam on the way. Because we chose to fly from the strip and land in the Grand Canyon, the tour was more expensive. However it really was something we will never forget as a family and I would thoroughly recommend.
The best time of day depends on your preferences, we chose the sunrise flight and it was was spectacular.
Tips For Visiting Las Vegas With Teens
Plan your trip, there is a lot you can do. But there is also quite a lot of restrictions when travelling to Vegas with kids. However don’t let this put you off. We had the best trip.
Ensure you have a valid passport with at least 6 months left till it expires from the day you return from your trip.
Organise you ESTA before you visit and ensure it’s all approved before traveling.
You can’t go into a bar with kids or teens in Vegas.
However children can eat in most of the restaurants, although very few offer children portions. When our boys were younger we ordered one main meal with 2 plates. The restaurants were always happy to oblige with this.
You can walk through a casino with children and teens but you can’t stop. The minute you stop security appear to move you on.
There is an awful lot of walking in vegas. The casinos are HUGE and can take 20-30 minutes to walk through.
Find accommodation that you are happy chilling in at night. After 9-10pm Vegas is an adults playground. We found long leisurely meals worked for us in the evenings.
Please note this post is part of a paid collaboration with E Visa, however all experiences and opinions are our own.
