Who doesn’t love cup cakes, they are just things of joy? They scream parties, fun, treats and happiness. And hopefully my free Cupcake SVG represents that? It is a layered file but like all of my free SVG files can also be used as a single layer file. Also check out my Cupcake Alphabet.
This is a great one to use for card making, scrapbooking and with Glowforge. Simply cut lots of cupcakes for wooden cupcake bunting. Or a giant cupcake for wall decor or framed art.

Making Your Layered Cupcake SVG/PNG On Cricut
Firstly upload your Cupcake SVG files to Cricut Design Space, follow these instructions if you need help doing this. Next you will need to ensure all layers line up correctly, they should, however if they don’t, click on the padlock on the corner of the file to adjust.
Then, once you are happy, colour all the layers, using the pictures on this page as a guide. I did cut an extra top layer as you can see below, however it looked better with the top layer being red.
- 1. Red glittery
- 2. White
- 3, 4, 5 3 shades of pink or whatever colour you fancy.
Cutting Your Cupcake SVG On Cricut
Start by lining up all the Cupcake SVG layers in design space to confirm all files line up correctly and are exactly the same size.
When you send your Cupcake SVG/PNG files to your Cricut to cut, do ensure you use your brayer to roll the paper, vinyl or card to adhere to the mat. Note that movement will affect the cut.
How To Build Your Cupcake SVG Layered File
Firstly start by making sure they all line up and every layer is the correct way round, then flip all of the layers over.
Next, add sticky pads to the back of your fourth pink layer and flip it over to attach it to front of the back pink layer (the one without any contours) , followed the third layer, then the second white layer. Lastly add a thin layer of glue to the back of the red glittery layer, (I use cosmic shimmer acrylic glue) and attach to the white layer.
