Are Brussel Sprouts Good For You?
Yes they are packed with nutrients, including vitamin K which is essential for blood clotting. High in vitamin c which helps promote iron absorption and boost the immune system.

How To Make The Perfect Brussel Sprouts And Pancetta For Roast Dinner?
Ingredients
- 250g Brussel Sprouts
- 80g Pancetta Cubes
- 10g Butter
- Salt and pepper to season
- 3 tablespoons of boiling water
How To Prepare Your Brussel Sprouts For Cooking
To prepare your brussel sprouts, chop off the hard ends and remove the outer leaves. Then half each sprout and slice into 6 sections, this will create a shredded texture perfect for cooking.
Method
- Prepare your Brussel Sprouts as above
- Cook the pancetta in a hot frying pan until cooked (keep moving around the pan for the whole time) and then put to one side.
- Melt the butter in the frying pan, when hot add the boiling water to create a butter foam
- Add the chopped brussel sprouts
- Season with salt and pepper
- Cook for 2-3 minutes
- Add the cooked pancetta and cook and cook for a further 2 minutes.
Can You Freeze Brussel Sprouts?
Yes as long as you blanch them first. To do this chop the sprouts as normal and add to boiling water for 2 minutes. Then plunge into ice cold water, blot dry on kitchen paper and freeze in portion sized batches. Sprouts can be frozen for up to 12 months.
How Long Will Brussels And Pancetta Last For In The Fridge?
They will keep for 3 days in the fridge and can be reheated in the microwave.
