What To Look For When Buying A New Hairdryer

This is an easy post for me, I don’t really bring hairdressing onto my blog so much, which is crazy, as that is what I do, a career I have loved. So I have decided I am letting hairdressing in, although I will not allow it to take over.

But the true fact is that many people are total puzzled by all things hair, some are great and totally on the ball, but from experience, some genuinely find all things hair a total mystery. I can help with this, so why not.

I am starting today with how to choose and use a hairdryer. Yes, I know, point and turn on. But to get your hair smooth, and get lots of volume, there are simple steps you can follow that will help you achieve this.

I am currently using the Braun Satin-Hair 7 SensoDryer, and must say I am getting on great with it. It has all the features I expect from a professional dryer, and as someone with naturally curly hair that wears it straight and curly this is important.

Joe’s Tween Bedroom Project

I have talked lots in the last couple of weeks about how decorating is just not my thing, but what I do love is design so I thought I would share the inspiration behind Joe’s new tween bedroom.

Our home is very quirky and all of the up-stairs rooms are built-in the eaves of the roof. This means we have reasonable floor space but as the roof slopes, not very much wall and head space.

Because of this rooms have to be planned and designed to maximise space. Joe’s main brief was that he wanted a desk, also I wanted to also ensure he had somewhere to store his toys. To solve this we bought a divan bed with drawer space underneath and a tall thin chest of drawers to avoid taking up too much floor space, these ensure his toys are stored out of sight giving him a clutter free environment yet with easy access to toys and games.

Young Drivers, and Road Safety

Something happened a couple of weeks ago that Jack had been beside himself with excitement about for ages. He had his very first ever-driving lesson. I know arghhh what happened to my little boy.

I will be honest it has been a month of milestones, a month of growing up. And us having to accept he is growing up, but a driving lesson was a huge thing.

The driving lesson was run and organised by Young Drivers, an amazing initiative designed to install a sense of responsibility and road safety into the young drivers of today.

IMG_6504Jack had a 30-minute lesson; although it was on a dedicated track, I will be honest; I nearly had a heart attack when we arrived. As there were other young drivers on the track, I mean what if one of them lost control, what if Jack did?  But the whole process is expertly managed and coordinated by the amazing driving instructors.
