It also brings back happy memories of making them with the boys when they were little. So I thought I would share a little craft tutorial and instruction to help you To Make Origami Fortune Tellers With Paper.

Step By Step How To Make An Origami Paper Fortune Teller
You will need
- A square piece of paper ( I used 12×12 but 10×10 might be better for little hands)
- Pen or stickers with numbers or letters.
How To Fold A Fortune Teller
Starting with a square of paper, fold each corner in towards the center of the paper. This will create 4 identical triangles.
Now Flip It Over
Now flip the square over and repeat folding the opposite corner in towards the center point of the square paper to create small triangles.
Each corner section of your origami paper fortune teller will be a small triangle with split diagonal folds area down the middle.
You Will Now Have Four Squares
When you flip the square you will have 4 square flaps these are the outer folds where you will put your numbers or letters.
Fold The Square Backwards Horizontally And Vertically On The White Visible Lines
You will need to fold along the fold line each way to create holds to allow you fortune teller to fold and move freely.
Put Your Fingers Into Each Fold And Push Towards The Middle
This will create a cone shape, this is the finished shape of you fortune tellers build. It’s now time to decorate it.
Numbering Your Fortune Teller
Add numbers 1-4 to the outside of your paper fortune teller with pens or pencils to create an educational counting game. Alternatively you could add your favorite color, or favorite books, thus making your fortune teller a spelling game.
 You need to point the numbers or colours towards the middle, like in the image. Thus, they are in the correct position when the fortune teller is in use.
Alternatively, you can use number and letter stickers to decorate your fortune teller.
Write Numbers Or Colours On The Inside Flaps Of Your Fortune Teller
This is a great way to help younger children learn letters and colours. Again, be sure you point the letters inwards to make them easier to read.
Lastly, open each triangle flap and leave a hidden message or fun fate, predictions or person’s fortune on the inside of the fortune teller. This could be made into a fun game, clues in a scavenger hunt or just lovely messages.
