A Little About The Moscow Mule
Who Invented The Moscow Mule?
Invented in 1941 by John Martin of G.F. Heublein Brothers based in Hartford Connecticut, who were distributors of American East Coast spirits and food.
How Did The Moscow Mule Cocktail Get Its Name?
The name of the Moscow Mule was totally random. Moscow is believed to have been used to encourage the public to associate this traditionally vodka based drink with with Russia, therefore also vodka. Before this point Vodka was not a popular drink in the States. Mule transpired because ginger beer delivers a kick to the flavour.
The Moose Mule
This cocktail recipe is a twist on traditional roots of the Moscow Mule. It is however equally delicious and refreshing. With the addition of Moose, a neutral grain spirit, distilled with alpine herbs such as pine, mint, matcha, green tea, chilli and nettle and also sweetened with Canadian syrup. Even better you can buy the Moose Mule cocktail kit direct from Moose, it comes all ready to make and mix.
Moose gives this Moscow Mule Cocktail and velvety edge infused with chilli. So whilst you can substitute the Moose with vodka for a traditional Mule, also consider trying it this recipe with Moose for a more refined flavour.
