Adding A Personalised Touch To Home Decor

Sometimes its hard envisioning a room complete isn’t it? I knew the colours I wanted for our Lounge, I knew what rug we wanted and overall was thrilled with the result. But there were still a few things missing, I am still to find the perfect pictures to hang over my desk, and have struggled finding just the right cushions, I felt I needed something personalised, something we could all relate too.

Adding A Personalised Touch To Home Decor with Snapfish Cushions

I had scoured the shops looking for something with a bit of colour but had just not found the right ones. Then as I was making my SnapFish Calendar  it came to me, I would create my cushions myself. So I spent some time going through memories of our year, and one event stood out, the Diabetes UK London Bridge Challenge. We love London; it was a beautiful day with gorgeous blue skies, exactly what I wanted for my personalised sofa cushions.

Styling My Lounge With benuta

When I recently got the opportunity to work with benuta I jumped at the chance, a good friend had just got a rug from there and it was gorgeous. We were just in the process of decorating our lounge, and had changed the colour scheme for all of our furniture, but had really struggled finding a rug to match the new grey scheme.

Styling My Lounge With benuta,

We had looked everywhere, and everything was either too patterned, too flat, to rough, not just the right colour. benuta presented me with the opposite problem, too much choice. Is there such a thing as too much choice? It is better to struggle choosing from lots of options you love, rather than having the scour shops and the Internet to find just the right thing.

My Festive Fireplace

This week as I leafed through my Homes and Gardens Magazine looking for festive fireplace inspiration I was struck but how festive decoration seems to be very much trending towards Nordic, Scandinavian style. All very simple and beautiful, this is a style I adore but wanted to incorporate it to fit in with my current decorations.

Feeling Festive and Cinnamon Butter

It has finally hit me I am feeling festive. I suppose it was always going to be a delayed reaction this year. So much has happened in the last two months that honestly, the last this on my mind was Christmas. I don’t know if it was Joe singing Christmas songs this morning, thinking about packing for our pre-Christmas break, or our planned trip to the Christmas markets, but thankfully it is here I am finally feeling festive.

It has arrived later than ever before, but it’s here thank goodness, and now I can start to get my head around all that Christmas planning and shopping I need to do.
But let me start by sharing my first festive tip of the season. Cinnamon Butter, and oh my, it is amazing and so simple to make, and perfect to have ready in the freezer for festive snacks.

Travelodge London ExCeL, Perfect For Events At ExCeL And The O2

A couple of weeks ago I had the most wonderful travel event planned in London, the event was a 2-day event which meant a 2 night stay in London whoohoo. The dilemma now was where to stay? In the center of London, or local to ExCeL? If we stayed on the South Bank we were a train away but close to the bars and restaurants, or stay local to ExCeL so we didn’t have far to travel in the mornings?

We went for the local option and chose the Travelodge Excel London thinking it would be nice and easy and could always get into town if we wanted too. Well, let me tell you, we made the right decision. And this is always something to consider when staying in the city; The Docklands Light Railway decided to strike during our stay, and whilst measures were made to be sure we would get to our location it would have taken ages and been a nightmare.

QLodges Our Stunning Lodge, A Real Home From Home

Last week we were lucky enough to spend a glorious long weekend at QLodges Slaley Hall, Northumberland. Nestled in 1,000 acres of breathtaking countryside, this really is the perfect family lodge break. When you visit a resort for the first time you really don’t know what to expect. Will the lodge be nice? Will it meet your expectations? Will the kids get bored? I could go on but you get my drift.

Lodge

Well, I need not have worried. I will share in my next post just how much he loved the wonderful estate and all the incredible activities. But today I wanted to share just how gorgeous the lodge is, and trust me this can’t be done in a paragraph, it was stunning.

Check-in takes place at Slaley Hall main reception, and was a quick easy process, where we received our lodge keys, and the key to our very own golf buggy. Yes, you read right every lodge has its very own golf buggy. At first I though it was a little extravagant, I mean what is wrong with walking right? But the Slaley Hall Estate is vast and the buggy was a godsend, perfect for nipping out for a spot of lunch or nipping up to the spa or golf club. And you still get plenty of opportunities to enjoy the wonderful walks, but as a family we loved the golf buggy.
