This is a quick post for one of those kitchen staples that once we know are super easy. This Easy Homemade, Slimming World Tomato Sauce Recipe For Pasta is one that I return back to again and again. Additionally despite it being a low fat sauce recipe it’s a recipe the whole family loves.

As long as you have a selection of store cupboard ingredients in, then its super easy to whip up a quick low fat tomato sauce from this quick and recipe. Making it great for midweek family meals.

It’s a sauce that makes a great base recipe for pasta and Italian dishes, that once you know, you’ll never need to buy a jar again. What better than being able to whip up an easy homemade slimming world sauce in minutes, with no effort at all?

Slimming World Homemade Italian Tomato Sauce Recipe For Pasta.

Ingredients For Homemade Slimming World Tomato Sauce

  • 1 tin of plum tomatoes
  • Half a spoon full of ready chopped garlic or 2 chopped cloves of garlic
  • A glug of balsamic vinegar ( Depends on how much you like)
  • Tsp of mixed herbs.
  • Salt and pepper to season.

Method

Put the plum tomatoes in a pan and mash with a potato masher. You can buy chopped tomatoes, however whole tomatoes are a little thicker in consistency. Also I think it was Jamie Oliver who once said there are more vitamins in whole tomatoes!

Add garlic to a base tomato sauce to make a Slimming World Italian Tomato Sauce Recipe For Pasta

Add the garlic, herbs and balsamic vinegar and bring to a boil stirring until the mixture is well blended.

Now season with salt and pepper and allow to cook down for 5-10 minutes whilst simmering.

Lastly add any veg or meat you wish to create you Italian meal and save with pasta.

Yes you can make a big batch of homemade slimming world tomato sauce by multiplying the ingredients. Once cooked allow to cool and freeze in plastic tubs for up to 3 months. This is such an easy way to be able to create simple meals for the family. Having a selection of sauces ready to go in the freezer makes midweek meals a piece of cake.
