Easy Slimming World Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe

Slimming World Spaghetti Bolognese is the perfect midweek meal for all of the family. Not only is it low in fat and slimming world friendly it also tastes delicious so you don’t need to be on Slimming World to enjoy it.

Additionally this slimming world friendly meal also works well as part of a controlled healthy diet plan.

How To Make Slimming World Spaghetti Bolognese

Shopping List

500g 5% fat minced steak

500g Pasatta

1 tablespoon mixed herbs

1 red onion

3 garlic cloves

150g mushrooms

400g tin or chopped tomatoes

350g linguine pasta

Table spoon of mixed herbs

Salt and pepper to season.

Recipe Optional Extras

60g 50% less fat cheddar

1 tablespoon of light mayonnaise 

1 red pepper

Method

Boil the mince in a pan for around 5 minutes, just until it starts to cook and the fat rises to the top.

Now drain the mince to remove excess fat and water and keep to one side.

Meanwhile chop the onions and mushrooms and place into the pan to brown.

Add the mince, mix in with the onion and mushroom mix. Now brown off for 5 minutes before adding the passata and tinned tomatoes and mixing well.

Sprinkle in the herbs, crush the garlic to add and grind in salt and pepper.

Then simmer for 30 mins, stirring at intervals.

Meanwhile boil the pasta for 18 minutes and drain.

Now serve.

Recipe Variations

At this point you may choose to add a tablespoon of reduced fat mayonnaise. ( I know it sounds awful, however trust me and give it a go it tastes amazing.)

Sprinkle with low fat cheese.

Sweet red pepper, add this at the onion and mushroom stage.

If you are not following slimming world or want an extra treat also add a glass of red wine with the passata and tinned tomato’s.

Can You Freeze Slimming World Bolognese?

Yes, once cooled it can be frozen. I often make double portions and freeze the meat and sauce. Thus making midweek meals so much easier.

I simply grab a portion out of the freezer on the morning to allow to defrost slowly, before thoroughly re-heating and cook up a fresh batch of linguine.

Alternatively you can make the base sauce without the meat and freeze that in portions.

Ingredients

Recipe Optional Extras

At this point you may choose to add a tablespoon of reduced fat mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon of light mayonnaise 10 Calories per serving, 1g Fat
