How To Create Your Printable Snowman Alphabet Tags With Cricut

Start by sizing your printable snowman letter to exactly the size you want and creating an offset. Once you have created your offset click on it and change it to a cut file, then click on contour on the bottom right corner and click contour and remove all contours to make the offset layer a solid image.

Line up all of your layers in Cricut Design Space

Now create a contour of the contour layer. Once you have down this put layers one (snowman) and the contour to one side. You now need to duplicate your second contour layer and flip one of the layers so it is back to back and lines up exactly.

Next grab a square or oblong from design space unlock it and drag it longer to bridge the gap between the two letters and weld together to create one solid image. Its a good idea to grab a score line and attach that to the middle of the card so you can score it with your Cricut machine when cutting.

Now line up your projects and if you are happy it all lines up you can send it to print and cut. They need to be 6.75.x 9.25 or less to use the print and cut feature, so the sizing below was incorrect and I had to make it smaller.

  • I cut my card back layer with blue card stock.
  • The offset layer with silver glitter card.
  • And the snowman on printable white card stock.
make sure all the layers fit together

Now click make it, this will take you to the print preview page, ensure you feed your card the correct way into the printer and press print. When you unload your printer avoid touching the black guide line around the edge of the printed snowman letters as I find this can smudge easily.

Once printed, gently put the card from your cutting mat, I don’t roll it with a brayer as I usually would, simply gently press around the edge. But always ensure I use a sticky mat and ensure the edges are well stuck down.

You will now be taken to the cut screen, here you can choose your material, I chose heavy card stock for this project.

If You Don’t Have Cricut ?

You can upload our Snowman PNG Alphabet to Canva, this is a great programme for making posters and cards, or indeed Word or Pages. We have provided a set on Jpg files for use in these programs if you would prefer your Printable Snowman Alphabet to have the white background on.

Building Your Snowman Christmas Tags

Once all of your layers are printed and cut, fold the card along the score to really crease the line. Then you can add the glitter offset layer, I use cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Glue as I find it allows me to adjust my project before it dries.

When you are happy with placement add your printed snowman letter with glue.

glue the glitter layer onto the backing card

Lastly use a hole punch to make a hole and thread string through to create your tag. You will notice this tag is backwards but I figured I wanted to use the edge of the letter with more card on it to make the tag sturdier. If I was making a card I would maybe mount my letter onto a card to it looked right.
