4 Cities in a week is good going even for me! I have to say now I am out of the other side it was a doddle, a fun week full of adventure. A lot of rain, festivities and miles, but you only live once.
And weeks like this week make me appreciate how amazing our country is how much adventure there is out there. Also that sometimes it’s the simple things that create the most joy, like the rain in London or just standing still and looking up in a city.

Visiting The Liverpool Ice Festival
Last weekend Chris Joe and I were up bright and early to visit the Ice Festival at Liverpool Docks. I have to say the Docks are a wonderful place to visit any time of year. But we had so much fun on Saturday wandering the docks, eating candyfloss and riding the ice slide. Joe is very much like Bambi on ice, but its memories such as these you remember forever.
Country Walks
Sunday we took things pretty easy after a Saturday catch up with friends and the odd “cough” glass of gin we decided a long country walk was in order. We may have popped into the village pub before heading home for a roast dinner but that is exactly what Sundays are made for; glasses of wine by log fires and walking in the rain.
Catching Up With Friends In Leeds
Monday I got the chance to meet up with the gorgeous Nadine in Leeds. We spent a couple of hours catching up over lunch, mulling around the Christmas Markets and shopping. It’s wonderful to be able to meet up with other bloggers and talk shop. I am also so grateful for the amazing people that have co me into my life in the crazy world.
A Day In London In The Rain
And it is true, London is even beautiful in the rain, If fact in many ways more beautiful.
My aim for the day was to find out about Thornton’s new Cheeky Elf chocolate. They really are adorable, and I spent a crazy couple of hours over steaming mugs of hot chocolate finding out how to keep the magic of Christmas alive from real life Elves. Which has given me the best idea for a new Cricut Christmas project, watch this space, this is another one of those I wish I had the Cricut when the boys were little moments.
Whilst in London I got to check out the Whacoal press day, you know how crazy I am about Fantasie Lingerie. Well, omg the SS19 range is divine I can’t wait to share some of it. I love how Fantasie offer a measuring service, which has become one I trust.
Since wearing their lingerie it has made such a difference to how my clothes fit. And don’t me started on the swimwear its gorgeous. I know I get giddy about matching sets but for me it’s a great way for feel good from the inside.
I also nipped across to Covent Garden, just because it is one of my favourite places in the World, no, it actually is! And it is even more beautiful when it’s all dressed up for Christmas.
The rain did not matter, or the fact that I was sopping wet from the walk. The lights were reflecting off the wet cobblestones. Live opera music was being sung as people watched on with glasses of wine in hand. I could just stand and listen and people watch forever.
Maybe it’s my love for the theatre and the whole creative vibe, but just thinking of it makes my heart beat a little faster. Sounds sooooo dramatic doesn’t it, but I honestly love it that much. I do try to nip in even if it’s for a 10-minute wander every time I visit London.
Afternoon Tea In Manchester And More Catching Up With Friends
I rounded up my little tour on Thursday with afternoon tea with Karen at the Radisson Blu in Manchester. It gave us the opportunity to have a good catch up, the weather was horrific and getting there was a challenge but it was worth it for a catch up and to eat cake, I will share more on the afternoon tea next week. But who doesn’t love tea, cake and a catch up with the girls.
The Week Ahead
Today I plan to go to yoga and spend a little time regrouping and reflecting. After a busy week as my brain feels so chaotic. This weekend we have nothing planned so a little festive decorating may be in order with of course the obligatory mulled wine.
Next week I am off to see Wicked at the Palace Theatre arghhh I am so excited, I have seen it before but years ago. The score and staging is just incredible. However I do remember the story shocked me a little so I can’t wait to watch it again through fresh eyes.
Have a wonderful week whatever you have planned.
Wow! You do get about. It looks and sounds like you had fantastic fun!
The day with Thorntons sounds amazing!
Have a fab time seeing Wicked!
Gorgeous photos x
What a lovely busy week you’ve had, catching up with blogging friends and spending time in four beautiful cities. I’ve lived just outside of London for 13 years and I’m not sure I’ve ever been to Covent Garden at this time of year. It does look very pretty even in the rain. Love the sound of the country walk too, the perfect way to spend a Sunday. #WotW
My goodness. Have your feet hit the floor?! What a week. Love your festive photos. Markets are so captivating, with so much to look at. Hope you treated yourself to something. Wonderful to meet up with blogging friends too. Good excuse for cake. I’m looking forward to seeing what you make at the felt workshop. I’m guessing something suitably festive! Have a good week. #wotw
wow, what a wonderful exciting week. There is nothing better than catching up with friends, something I just don’t do often enough. I’m glad the rain didn’t put you off. Have a nice relaxing weekend. x

What a fabulous week you’ve had! I do love seeing different parts of the UK, especially after living abroad. It’s like seeing everywhere with new eyes. And I agree about Covent Garden, it is rather magical isn’t it. You did make me laugh saying you had an idea about doing something with your Cricut while you were out at an event. You must surely be the official Cricut mascot by now! So jealous you’re off to see Wicked. That’s next on my list. Have a great week x
I think I would be in bed for a week after visiting 4 cities Sarah, but what a wonderful week you have had, with no doubt lots of memories made. I can’t remember the last time I went to Covent Garden, but I agree that it looks so pretty, even in the rain. Enjoy Wicked, and taking things a little slower this week xx
Your week sounds wonderful. I wish we lived closer to London and Manchester. The show sounds fab – enjoy! x
What a busy week! I love an afternoon tea and this looks delicious. It’s always lovely when you can meet up with other bloggers, because they just get it x
