Have you ever wondered how to make the perfect Irish coffee and get the recipe just right? I have made quite a few Irish coffees over the years and they have been just fine. However there is a big difference, between just time and downright amazing and so easy!
Getting the perfect combination of sweetened coffee, Irish Whisky and cream is vital to creating a show stopping Irish coffee for the best winter cocktail or for after dinner drinks.
How To Make The Perfect Irish Coffee
Irish Coffee Ingredients
- 25 ml J&B Rare ( This is a Scotch Whisky but tastes amazing)
- 2 tsp of brown sugar
- 2 tsp of good quality coffee or 2 shots or espresso
- 1 small tub of full cream
- Half a Cadburys Flake.
How To Make
Start by preparing your cream and this is what makes this Irish Coffee Recipe so amazing, whip the cream. I had always poured it over a spoon, which works. But the difference adding a big blob of fluffy fresh whipped cream makes this winter cocktail incredible.
Mix the cream until it’s fluffy and firm so you can pick it up on a spoon and put it to one side. (If you are having a dinner party do this in advance and store in the fridge.)
You also want to crush the flake at this stage and then return to the fridge until you are ready to use.
Now prepare your coffee, add the coffee with boiling water to a glass and add 2 spoonfuls of brown sugar and stir until the sugar had dissolved.
When the sugar has dissolved add 25ml of J&B Scotch Whisky.
Lastly with a table spoon add a bit spoonful of whipped cream and gently drop it into the top of the coffee, dont worry about levelling it will level as it settles. Sprinkle with crushed flake and serve. Thus watching your guests marvel at its perfection and ask you How To Make The Perfect Irish Coffee.
How Do I Get The Cream To Float In Irish Coffee?
It’s all about the brown sugar, start with the heaviest ingredients first, ensure the coffee and sugar are well blend and pour the whisky onto the top before adding the cream and it floats.
