An Afternoon At Chill Factore In Manchester

19th October 2016 by SarahJChristie 6 Comments

Last week we spent the afternoon on the slopes at Chill Factore in Manchester

How wonderful you don’t have to go to the Alps to ski. We have such wonderful facilities here in the UK, to be able to spend an afternoon skiing, without even getting on a plane. We are so lucky to have an indoor ski slope with real snow in Manchester. The Chill Factore is fantastic for family days out.

If you have kids like ours, this is the perfect afternoon and a great way to spend a day at the weekend, or in the school holidays. I don’t know if you are like me? But I do struggle for inspiration sometimes. Chill Factore is such a fun way to spend an afternoon; I love that if offers something for all the family.

Jack is a confidant skier so is happy to get his lift pass and go, whereas Chris, Joe and I need all the help we can get. We arrived nice and early and enjoyed a pre ski lunch in the pizzeria, which was delicious. I think if Joe could have got away with not eating he would, however he thoroughly enjoyed his pizza. Which also gave him plenty of energy for the next couple of hours. Which let me tell you, was much-needed.

Once we were all kitted out.

Quick tip, give yourself plenty of time for this. Getting a family of four organised took us ages. We almost missed our lesson. Joe, Chris and I had an hours ski lesson booked. I have to say; I feel I will need a few more lessons until I am ski ready. Joe was like a duck to water. He loves skiing and is determined to be great at it. He left asking if he could have a couple of 1 to 1 lessons.

After our ski session Jack and Chris retired for hot chocolate, and Joe and I headed to the snow park.

I wasn’t too excited about this if I am totally honest, but we had a fabulous time. It was great to forget sensible and try my hardest to keep us with an 11-year-old. On first inspection I thought the snow park was aimed at small kiddies. And yes there is a toddler area. But the Downhill Donuts, Luge Slip ‘N’ Slide, Sledge ‘O’ Mania and Snow Luge are far from toddler rides.

Joe and 1 spent an hour laughing and I may have screamed once or twice, having so much fun in the snow. Chris and Jack watched from the balcony, Jack I am sure wishing he were not quite as cool so he could join in!

The wonderful thing about chill factore is, you almost forget you are an adult with responsibilities and find yourself racing your 11-year-old son to get to the top of a snow hill first. Ride the luge 10 times in a row and don’t get stressed at snowball fights. It was a wonderful afternoon, and one I cant wait to repeat.

Check out some of the half term deals Chill Factore currently have on offer. And take it from me, you are never to grown up for the snow park.

I tell you what, dry sky slopes have come a long way since I was little. That actually looks like you’re on snow. Looks and sounds like you all had a great time on and off the slopes. Those Pizzas look so good! Thank you so much for linking up to #MyCapturedMoment.

Aw what fab pictures Sarah. It has been about 7 years since we went to the Chill Factore (I know, how shocking is that) and we went in the little toddler area when Katie was 3. I know we would love a few hours there, as yes it is so hard to find something that a 10 and 14 year old like to do together. Ok I may not be whizzing down the slopes but I could be the photographer x
