The Best, Closest Palace Theatre Parking in Manchester

Where To Park For The Palace Theatre Manchester?

The Palace and Opera House have secured special theatre-go rates with selected local car parks. This allows you to secure cheap evening parking steps away from the Palace Theatre. Both car parks have plenty of parking spaces.

Although Oxford Road is a slightly wider car park, the Palace Car Park feels tighter for bigger cars. If I had a choice, I would always choose the Oxford Road car park. Both are very close to the theatre entrance so it’s down to choice the parking fees are the same.

Discount theatre parking makes a considerable saving on the cost of your evening, but it’s more about being as close to the theatre as possible. And I guarantee you can leave the car park and on your way home before the theatre empties. You don’t have to pay for your car park  ticket until you are home.

The evening rate for parking at the Palace Theatre in Manchester costs £10.95 for 6hr 58mins ( subject to change); however, you must park at the right car parks to get this reduced parking rate. Additionally, as the NCP car parks have gone digital, theatre parking has never been easier.

Which Car Parks Offer An Evening Rate Near The Palace Theatre Manchester?

You must get the right car parks as not all Manchester NCP car parks offer the evening rate. Both Oxford Street NCP car park, postcode M1 5EJ. The Manchester Palace NCP car park, postcode M1 6NE, and both are a 2-minute walk to the theatre, allowing you to access the theatre and restaurants on St Peter’s Square and a quick getaway at the show’s end. Just use your gps to find the right car park.

Be aware when navigating your way around the Palace Theatre that the road the theatre is on is for buses and taxis only; you get to Oxford Road car park from around the back. Do not be tempted to drive directly past the theatre. I have got a ticket for making this mistake.

There are a range of options for parking in Manchester, including on-street parking. However, these car parks have security cameras and are secure. Plus, finding secure parking is a convenient and quick way to access the theatre to avoid unnecessary parking fines and avoid carrying coins, pay online.

Tips For Getting the Best Parking Close to the Palace Theatre

Both car parks are in central Manchester City Centre locations and have designated disabled bays and an elevator for easy access.

You must arrive after 5 p.m. and leave before 11:59 to get the rate. And the beauty is that because the car park is digital, you don’t have to queue to pay after the show. Although you do have several options to pay, queuing is one. But why would you when you can jump in your car and pay when you get home?

  1. Get the NCP Park Pass app; you can set the app up to autopay, pre-register your number plate and turn on the app; your payment will be taken automatically from any credit cards to add to the app.
  2. Pay at a pay station; if you want to queue, you can; camera recognition picks up your car as you drive in. Put your car reg in the machine, and you can pay immediately but also have to leave the car park as soon as you have paid.
  3. Pay online when you get home now, this scared me at first, but it’s very clever. Head over to the NCP website when you arrive home, pop in your number plate, and a picture of your car come up with the parking prices. However, this must be done within 24 hours of entering the car park in the first instance.

What Happens If You Get Over Charged?

Don’t worry; this has happened to me once, and as long as you were in the right car park for the right amount of time, a simple call-up and they refund the difference onto your card; you need to give your car registration. Cameras catch you going in and out, so everything is recorded.

I hope that helps. The system is all brand new and a bit daunting at first, but it really does make life so much easier. And if you do love a great show. check out my latest reviews here.
