Where To Park Near The Palace Theatre Manchester

11th September 2021 by SarahJChristie Leave a Comment

If you are a regular theatre goer you  will know that parking near the Palace Theatre costs a fortune. Usually I like to make an evening of it. Firstly eat dinner in Manchester, and catch up with a friend, before enjoying the show. However here’s a tip of getting Cheap Palace Theatre Parking In Manchester. See Here For Opera House Parking.

Finding parking, or the right car park is a nightmare. And don’t even get me started on the queue to pay for parking afterwards! So I wanted to share a few tips that will save you time and money.

The Palace and Opera House have secured special theatre goes rates with selected local car parks. This gives you the opportunity to secure cheap evening parking steps away from the Palace Theatre.

Discount theatre parking makes a considerable saving on the cost of you evening.

Where To Park For The Palace Theatre Manchester?

The evening rate for parking at the Palace Theatre  in Manchester costs £8.00 for 6hr 58mins ( subject to change) however you must park at the right car parks to get this reduced parking rate. Additionally as the NCP car parks have now gone digital theatre parking has never been easier.

Which Car Parks Offer An Evening Rate Near The Palace Theatre Manchester?

It is really important that you get the right car parks as not all Manchester NCP car parks offer the evening rate. However both Oxford Street NCP car park, postcode  M1 5EJ. And the Manchester Palace NCP car park, postcode M1 6NE do and both are a 2 minute walk to the theatre.

Be aware when navigating your way around the Palace Theatre the road the theatre is on is for buses and taxis only, you get to Oxford road car park from around the back. Do not be tempted to drive directly past the theatre. I have got a ticket by making this mistake.

You must arrive after 5pm and leave before 11.59 to get the rate. And the beauty is that because the car park is digital you don’t have to queue to pay after then show. Although you do have several options to pay and queuing is one. But why would you when you can jump in your car and pay when you get home?

  1. Get the NCP Park Pass Ap, you can set the app up to autopay, pre register your number plate and turn on app, you payment will be taken automatically.
  2. Pay at a pay stations, if you really want to queue you can, camera recognition picks up you car as you drive in. Simply put your car reg in the machine and you are able to pay immediately, but also have to leave the car park as soon as you have paid.
  3. Pay online when you get home, now this really scared me at first, but it’s very clever. Simple head over to the NCP website when arrive home, pop in your number plate and a picture of your car come up with a rate. However this must be done within 24 hours of entering the car park in the first instance.

What Happens If You Get Over Charged?

Don’t worry, this has happened to me once and as long as you were in the right car park for the right amount of time, simple call up and they refund the difference onto your card, you just need to give your car registration. Cameras catch you going in and out so everything is recorded.
