Recently I talked about visiting the village of Afitos in Halkidiki.
These photos were taken on the way between Sani Dunes and Afitos. We were so lucky that out lovely driver allowed us to stop to see the sunflowers.
I just love sunflowers and standing at the edge of those fields the view was just breathtaking. Had I not been wearing sandals I would have waded in!
Our next stop was equally as beautiful and found us at the edge of a lavender field and the prettiest little church. It was a real gift being able to get out and see the real Greece. There is something about traveling and seeing such beautiful places that just makes you want to travel more, see more.

Wow I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many sunflowers…what a sight
Thank you for linking up
I know it is just beautiful x
That church looks so typically Greek. the rest looks far too green to be Greece!
Yes it does Fiona and it was in such a pretty location x

Aaaaah, those sunflower fields are stunning!
Thank you Nano it was such a gorgeous place to visit x
Those photos are so beautiful! For a fraction of a second I thought the yellow fields were like the rapeseed fields we have here. Then I realised they were something way more exciting! Whole fields of sunflowers! They must have been stunning to see up close.
Sarah I was so excited when I saw them our driver was so lovely to stop for us x
Oh wow what stunning photos. That little church is so pretty and I’ve never seen a whole field of sunflowers before. Beautiful 🙂
Louise it was gorgeous we drove past one years ago in Italy but couldn’t stop so I was so excited to get to stop this time x
Such pretty photos! The lovely thing about that part of Greece is that everything is so lush and green still, quite unlike more arid and dry regions the further south you go.
Yes Halkidiki is a very green part isn’t it? And os beautifully blue too x
Ah we drove past the sunflowers but didn’t think to ask him to stop. The countryside around the resort is so beautiful isn’t it x
