After what I can only describe as the Holiday of a lifetime we travelled down to Tours in the Loire Valley to meet up with some of a favourite people, our wonderful friends the Valance’s.
After checking into our hotel and enjoying a catch up over wine we headed into town to pre diner drinks. Donna had stumbled across and gorgeous little square the night before and could not wait to take us and wow.
We haven’t had the best of weather this last week in France, but I can honestly say it has not dampened our spirits one little bit; France is glorious even in the rain. Although the sun was not shining, Friday evening was dry and warm.
I feel we have really discovered the real France, the stuff of Disney movies, winding little streets, gothic buildings, castles, princesses and architecture that at times makes you want to weep it is so very beautiful.
Place Plumereau was one of those squares that make you grin from ear to ear. In fact as Chris, Darren and the boys found tables and ordered drinks, Donna and I wandered around marvelling at its beauty, people watching and taking photos.
Locals and tourists all mingled together enjoying the chilled out, happy atmosphere Place Plumereau just oozes. It really is one of those moments I will remember forever, very much like when we stumbles across Placa Reial for the first time.
That excitement of discovering such beauty, and knowing you will return one day but will always remember that first visit.
Pin for later
