It’s still BBQ season, ok not every day. But we are having some glorious sunny days? Days such as these are perfect for inviting friends and firing up the BBQ. And in my endeavour of making everything from scratch I thought I would have a go at an easy summer dip.
If there is anywhere to start it has to hummus doesn’t it? And as its summer, beetroot is a firm favourite in the Christie household. Thus a delicious easy beetroot hummus recipe that I can whip up in no time at all is a perfect addition to summer salads and BBQs. But also for winter dishes and Charcuterie boards.

Not only is it beautifully colourful making any snack table look divine. This beetroot hummus recipe tastes incredible. And as its home made you know exactly what’s in it!
However I also wanted to make my beetroot hummus recipe easy and achievable. No soaking chickpeas and cooking beetroot, I wanted quick, easy and minimal fuss. And I think I just may have found it! By using pre cooked steamed beetroot and tinned chickpeas this easy homes recipe can be made inside 15 minutes.
Easy Beetroot Hummus Recipe
Ingredients
- 100g steamed beetroots
- 100g precooked tinned chickpeas
- 3 tablespoons tahini
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 tablespoons water
- Mint to garnish
Instructions
- Cube the beetroot and place in the food processor
- Add all ingredients together in a food processor or blender until smooth.
- Allow to chill before serving.
- Garnish with mint leaves
- Serve with cucumber sticks, sliced pitta and bread sticks
Beetroot Houmous Recipe
