Mothers day is coming around fast, the one day of year dedicated to showing mums how amazing they are. Although, to all those mums out there, we are rocking it every day. However I wanted to create a few little guides to spark some inspiration on how to pamper your mum for mothers day. Sometimes it’s the little things for us mums that mean the most. So kicking of with experience no 1, Mothers Day Breakfast In Bed.
Tips For Creating The Perfect Breakfast In Bed
Now my guide is aimed at my teens, who are more than able of dragging themselves out of their pits at the weekend for the right occasion. With a little collaboration with the person who does the shopping (Dad) or indeed nipping to the supermarket yourself! One of you can drive! You can create the perfect breakfast in bed.
Do you know what, you don’t even need to shop, houses with teens are notorious for their empty fridges. ( That’s teen talk for this fringe is full of healthy stuff!)
However families with toddlers can also get involved, small people are incredible at enlisting adult help when needed.
Wondering What To Make For Breakfast or Brunch ?
Breakfast doesn’t have to be a complicated affair . It’s more about showing you care and taking that time out to lovingly prepare a mini breakfast feast with love. Here are a few idea’s.:
Tea and toast with a selection of jams.
Crumpets, or hot cross buns.
Salmon or scrabbled egg bagels.
Fruit, yogurt and granola.
Good old fried breakfast.
Poached eggs on toast.
For something a little advance salmon served on a potato rosti.
How To Prepare For Breakfast In Bed
Start by digging out the prettiest china and best tea. Breakfast in bed should be time for us mums to indulge and enjoy that extra time.
Plan your menu and go with your strengths, also do take into consideration any favourites mum may have. For example breakfast in bed favourites such as smoked salmon, avocado, yoghurt and granola, a selection of fruit or scrambled eggs.
However don’t be over ambitious or try to re-invent the wheel. Simple is often better.
New bedding is always a gorgeous treat! And there’s nothing better than getting into a freshly made bed with a crisp fresh duvet and sheets?
Use fresh flowers, these don’t have to cost a fortune you can cut them from the garden (Check first for goodness sake) Or pick up a bunch of daffodils for £1 they are everywhere at the moment.
How To Implement A Successful Breakfast In Bed.
Set your alarm, be up and organised, it’s one day a year. You can go straight back to bed afterwards.
Let mum know she can relax, take up a cup of tea and let her read the news or a book.
Most importantly don’t argue, create breakfast in bed in a calm atmosphere, no bickering over who is doing what, work as a team.
Don’t burn it! Obs…. but just saying !
Co-ordinate so it’s all ready together, boil the kettle, get the grill on and have your breakfast all reading in one go. And if you can’t cook, opt for pastries, fruit and yogurt. Or avocado on toast you can’t go wrong with toast.
Tidy up afterwards, this is vital to maintain the feel good factor.
Hope that helps, now get planning and make it a mothers day to remember. But before I leave you check out my shopping list for this post.
