As a lifelong Disney fan, I’ve always believed there’s something uniquely special about the magic Disney brings to the stage. And Disney On Ice has been a part of my family’s traditions for as long as I can remember. I started taking our boys when they were tiny, dressed as Buzz Lightyear, watching their faces light up as their favourite characters twirled, leapt, and sparkled across the ice. Those early years are some of my most treasured memories.
Now that the boys are grown up, the tradition continues in the most wonderful way. I get to share the joy all over again with my beautiful goddaughters. Who bring that same wide-eyed excitement that first made me fall in love with these shows. Walking into the AO Arena in Manchester for the Find Your Hero tour felt like stepping back into that familiar world of music, colour, and storytelling, only now, with a brand new generation to experience it with.
This year’s production promised bravery, heart, and Disney magic at every turn, and from the moment the lights dimmed, it was clear we were in for something truly enchanting. The blend of classic characters, dazzling costumes. Plus, breathtaking skating that made it a show that delighted nostalgia-loving adults just as much as it captivated little ones.

My Review of Disney of Ice
The show was packed with all the Disney magic you’d hope for and more. One of the biggest highlights for the little ones (and let’s be honest, me too!) was the Frozen segment. The excitement in the arena was palpable the moment Olaf waddled onto the ice. And when Anna, Elsa, and the rest of the Frozen crew skated out under the glittering lights, the entire place erupted with joy. Watching my god-daughters completely mesmerised by the swirling snow effects and the powerful “Let It Go” moment was nothing short of adorable.
There were also enchanting appearances from some of my absolute favourites, including Beauty and the Beast, Encanto, Rapunzel, The Little Mermaid, and Moana. Each story was brought to life with breathtaking choreography and flawless skating that felt almost effortless. The performers glided, leapt, and spun with such grace that at times it was easy to forget just how athletic and skilled they truly are.
The lighting and costumes were nothing short of dazzling; every colour seemed brighter, every sparkle seemed intentional. And every character looked like they had stepped straight out of their movie and onto the ice. From Moana’s glowing ocean-inspired scenes to the vibrant, joyful world of Encanto, each segment captured the heart of its film beautifully.
It was a performance that blended nostalgia with fresh, modern Disney storytelling. Creating a magical experience that delighted the children and tugged at the heartstrings of every adult in the audience. Disney On Ice has always been a special tradition for me, but this year’s show reminded me exactly why I keep coming back.
