From the moment we arrived, the hotel’s elegant design and welcoming atmosphere stood out. The attention to detail in both décor and service was exceptional. Its central location makes it perfect for discovering Chester’s historic streets, vibrant dining scene, and cultural attractions.
Perfectly Located for Exploring Chester
As a first-time visitor to Chester, I couldn’t have asked for a better base. Hotel Indigo is within walking distance of the city’s bars, restaurants, shops, and the iconic Chester Rows—perfect for a relaxed afternoon of people-watching.
For those who love history and culture, the Storyhouse Theatre, Chester Cathedral, and the famous City Walls are all just a short stroll away.

Stylish & Comfortable Rooms
We stayed in Deluxe Double Room 207 – The Paddock, which was beautifully designed with a refined equestrian theme, paying homage to Chester’s racing heritage.
The room was spacious and well-appointed, featuring comfortable seating areas, a dressing space, and three large picture windows that let in plenty of natural light. Practical amenities like a mini fridge, iron, hairdryer, and tea and coffee facilities made our stay even more convenient.
Elegant & Spacious Bathrooms
The bathroom was sleek, modern, and generously sized, complete with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The sophisticated design added to the overall feeling of comfort and indulgence.
Dining at The Forge Restaurant
The Forge, the hotel’s in-house steak restaurant, exceeded expectations. While steak is the star of the menu, there are plenty of other delicious options, including excellent gluten-free choices.
Our meal was perfectly cooked, and the wine selection was expertly paired. The service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.
Breakfast was equally impressive, offering a wide selection of high-quality dishes to start the day right before heading out to explore Chester.

- Shopping & People-Watching: The Chester Rows are filled with independent boutiques, cafés, and cocktail bars—perfect for a leisurely afternoon.
- Parking: There are two car parks within a 5-minute walk. We paid £13.95 for 24 hours.
- Must-See Attractions: Explore Chester Cathedral—there’s so much history inside!
- Food & Drink: Visit Chester Market for amazing street food and cocktails.
- Walk the City Walls: The 40-minute route offers fantastic views and insight into Chester’s Roman history. Look out for the Roman Amphitheatre, Gardens, and Castle along the way.
Eastgate Clock: Start your walk here—it’s one of the most photographed clocks in the UK!
