Last week I head out to Halkidiki In Greece to check out the Sani Dunes Resort. Anyone that reads my blog knows that as a family we LOVE Ikos Resorts.
There is a big difference in concepts between the two resorts. Yet some welcome similarities too. I was absolutely bowled over with the whole Sani Beach Concept and Sani Dunes. But for now I want to share our Deluxe Junior Suite with a private garden. More about the resort later!
The first thing I would like to point out is that almost all the rooms at Sani Dunes have a pool view, unless you opt to pay the extra for a beach view suite. However, for me the pool view is a winner. Not being the biggest beach fan of the beach, I am much happier spending my time lounging on a luxury lounger by a pool. And Sani Dunes Resort is such that there are plenty of loungers allowing you to enjoy a space in close proximity to your room should you want to nip back.
Our Junior Suite at Sani Resort had a large furnished garden and terrace with a small gate opening onto the pool. Perfect for long lazy lunches, pre dinner wine or after dinner gin. The outdoor space of Sani Dunes suites really are a huge bonus to the ground floor accommodations.
The Suites at Sani Dunes are luxurious, spacious and have everything you could need for a chilled out stay.
The beds at Sani Resort in Halkidiki are H.U.G.E and super comfy, offering a pillow menu to suit your pillow needs. This is such a great feature; a pillow can make and break a sleep pattern on holiday. Sani resort really has thought of to all.
There is also the added addition of a huge comfy sofa and flat screen T.V and dressing table. With plenty of wardrobe space for those of us who like to travel light, cough. And for all of us that can’t live without technology the free Wi-Fi is excellent across the resort and in the rooms, which also have USB plugs, European and UK plug sockets. (I forgot my adaptor plug so this was a godsend!) The rooms also have an in room iron and ironing board and laundry service should you need it.
Should you need refreshments the rooms host a pay mini bar and drawers full of snacks, but there is also a little room should you want to get a bottle of wine and some soft drinks from the quite reasonable Sani Resort on site mini market. A kettle and Nespresso machine with daily re stocked Nespresso pods, coffee, tea bags and milk. And should you need extra milk it is available in the mini market.
There are cups, glasses, plates, cutlery and a cork screw and bottle opener should you fancy nipping to the deli located at the Sani marina, making it easy to make a quick in room lunch. Or of course you could nip out of your room for a poolside snack. To have both options is wonderful.
The bathroom is huge and luxurious
Offering luxurious shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, hand soap a small sewing kit with that elusive safety-pin that only will only ever need on holiday yet do every time, am I right? Nail file, shoe buffer, shower cap and cotton wool balls. There is also a hairdryer.
And with a double basin unit, freestanding bath and huge shower, with excellent water pressure, you could quite honestly spend ages lounging in the bathroom alone.
I can’t think of one single thing that I needed that was not available in the suites at Sani Dunes resort Halkidiki. They have thought of everything to make your stay luxurious, comfortable and chilled out family holiday. Check out my room tour of the deluxe junior suite at Sani Dunes if you fancy a nosey.
