London City Breaks And A Review Of The New Super Rooms At Travelodge

16th June 2017 by SarahJChristie 2 Comments

I love a city break in London and can sometimes spend ages planning such a trip.

It may be for a family trip to London. A girl’s night out or event. And at times a last-minute thing, something I wasn’t intending to do but being an impulsive kinda gal I make snap decisions all the time. And trips to London are one such example.

It’s such a good job I have a go with the flow family, because otherwise I would drive them bonkers. But here’s the thing, my little family are growing up. It’s a fact I have tried to avoid, but they need us less all the time. Don’t get me wrong, we are their parents, we are 100% here for them. I LOVE travelling with the boys; family travel is my favourite thing in the world.

But it’s also time to start carving our way as a couple and taking those opportunities such as courses and events. Which does mean from time to time I stay away from home for a couple of nights.

Being a travel mad family we take every opportunity to go on an adventure. The boys love London; I think that is the biggest change in family travel as they have grown up. They love city breaks. Jack is at his happiest wandering Covent Garden shopping and soaking up the atmosphere.

Affordable accommodation in London is something that I frequently need to use. I have had some quite hairy experiences of booking independent hotels; one was in a basement with a very shaky window onto an alleyway! I never slept at all that night. On two occasions I have had accommodation cancelled on the day. Not funny when you are on a train to London with nowhere to stay. And the booking agent is trying to offer you a hostel as a replacement.

Because of said travel disasters it has become increasingly important to book a safe and reliable hotel, somewhere I know what I am getting. That will be clean and not let me down on the day of travel. So I am never wondering where to stay in London.

Travelodge is one of my go to places to book a room in London. Knowing I can always get one in varied UK locations at the last-minute. My favourite being the Covent Garden hotel, which is great for visiting my favourite place in the UK. This week I head to the Euston Travelodge to try out the new Super Rooms. And I have to say wow. For an affordable hotel in London Travelodge have ready stepped up to the mark. A hotel minutes from Euston station is welcome after a long train journey.

Offering stylish accommodation whilst recognising the needs of the modern traveller, the new Travelodge Super Rooms are stylishly decorated in modern shades of grey and blue.

With lots of added extras including a Lavazza A Modo Mio coffee machine, Power shower, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and even a KitKat perfect to enjoy with a coffee after a night on the town.

The rooms also have a modern mood lighting system and have included wonderful details such a plug sockets beside each side of the bed that also have USB sockets. Hoorah, as a travelling family have you any idea the arguments this is going to prevent. I kid you not Wi-Fi and USB sockets are the holy grail when you are a teen.

Overall the rooms are smaller than the standard rooms but the size is comfortable and as you would expect of a London city centre hotel. The beds are comfy with super comfy pillows and the linen is crisp and fresh. All the new added extras make the Travel Lodge Super Rooms feel more that an affordable hotel. Check out my little room tour below you will be impressed, I know I was.
