Feeling Festive With HomeSense

Do you know what I miss about being employed vs. being self-employed?

The Christmas party, more because it is something to look forward to, a time to reflect on the year; laugh about stuff that didn’t work. Reflect on what was great and just let your hair down.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my little blog. It’s the best job in the world I am so happy.  I could never go back to that environment of irrelevant pressure just to prove boxes are being ticked. I love the fact that I can call the shots, work when I want to and with whom I want to. Because actually all I want is to be happy and have people I like around me.

If you want to see me create my projects, follow me on Tik Tok and Instagram.

A brand that has been a big part of my work life this year is HomeSense. It is a brand that I love. Have you ever been into HomeSense and not bought something. I physically can’t do it; there is always a bargain that I can’t live without.

So getting to meet the team behind the brand was wonderful, and even better, getting so see some of the Christmas ranges at a blogger Christmas party was a real treat. I got to meet up with lots of lovely bloggers, including 2 of my faves the gorgeous  Caro and Donna.  And discuss all things sparkly and homes.

I love getting together with creative people, it is so inspiring and you come away with so many great ideas. HomeSense really could not have picked a better venue with a quirky and super stylish decor that just lends itself to the gorgeous Christmas offerings.

The HomeSense Christmas department has to be one of my favourites

Not only is it huge with so much choice. You can go in for pink baubles and come out with white angel wings. Why, because the choice that is offered is a real feast for the eyes, like getting lost in a winter wonderland. It has you swapping and changing your festive design plans more times than you can shake a stick at.

Kid you not, only 2 weeks ago on a festive decor-shopping trip, and after an hour of drooling at gorgeous displays I looked at my ever so full trolley to evaluate my purchases, and none of it matched. I was so giddy; and had mixed styles colours in a way that could never look good.

I had to replace half of my trolley and really discipline myself, rather that running round like a Magpie on lucozade collecting everything sparkly. And after some time I made my decisions, and feeling like an X Factor Judge at boot camp I purchased my choices and lovingly packed them into the car.

This afternoon I plan to decorate our fireplace with all my purchases, which is the feature of our home at Christmas. And I can’t wait to share them because they are oh so very pretty. And if you haven’t popped into HomeSense, then check out some of these gorgeous gold festive pieces.

  1. So lovely to meet you, Sarah! I absolutely love HomeSense. Our Nottingham store is amazing! I think they all know me in there! I love the stationery, food, kitchenware…furniture, soft furnishings! I was over the moon when I had the chance to work with them. That party venue was amazing too.

I’ve really enjoyed reading yours and Caro’s take on the evening. It’s lovely having different angles and you and Caro have a distinctive ‘voice’ – I like em both! Very much. Hopefully meet you again next year . #homeetc

  2. Hi Sarah, I would be so the same! I can’t resist a bit (or a lot) of sparkle!). I love your analogy of being like a magpie on Lucozade! The gold tones in your photos is lovely… Not too sure about the photo with the feathered wings seemingly coming out of the picture.! But that’s what happens when birds drink Lucozade!

  3. It sounds such a great night Sarah, and lovely that you met up with Caro and Donna. I love going in Homesense when we head to the Traffod Centre. I always park Hywel and the kids somewhere with a drink, so I can have some lovely time mooching around with NO interruptions x

  4. Love your pics chickie!!! I think — considering lack of food, too much alcohol and wanting to gossip, rather than work — we both did pretty well with our pictures!!! I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and looked at my camera!! Yours are lush!!!! xx #HomeEtc
