A Post Card From Château de Saint-Fargeau

I have been sat thinking how on earth do I put today into words? This week has been the most incredible week, full of amazing experiences that have made us fall in love with France and the people for Burgundy and Pays De Guedelon.

And then today happened, a day of firsts, a day where Jack rode a horse for the first and last time, Joe showed such fearlessness and made us so very proud of his riding skills. And we were taught to make macarons by the most humble and beautiful Noemi of Château de Saint-Fargeau.

We started our day with a beautiful French breakfast at Hotel des Grands Chenes, courtesy of the lovely Rachael. Followed by a horse-riding trek around the countryside of Saint-Fargeau led by the incredibly patient and wonderful Stephanie of Ferme equestre des Grilles.

The terrain was rough with lakes that had swollen their banks, but Stephanie lead us through with her patience and skill.

After a delicious lunch at Auberge de le Demoiselle we met Noemi for a tour of the Château de Saint-Fargeau, and a family baking lesson where we learnt to make macarons. Noemi is honestly the most wonderful person, we all felt so at ease with her and had the most wonderful afternoon baking and left feeling this trip has been a trip of a lifetime.

As we sat over a delicious dinner enjoying the wonderful service at Moulin de Corneil we reflected on our amazing trip, I can’t wait to share it all, and there is oh so much to share. Burgundy is a breathtaking region that we cant wait to re visit.

I am so very grateful Pay de Guedelon invited us, it has been the most incredible memorable experience we will never forget. Thank you all who have been involved from the bottom of our hearts we have had the best time, and I cant wait to tell the world what beautiful people you all are xx
