I have been designing and making Mandalas for quite a while now using the slice and weld method, which is great. But so wanted to start drawing and designing my own from scratch. Hoorah this is my first hand drawn Flower Mandala SVG Free Design and I am thrilled with it. It took a bit of head scratching to get my head around the process, however now I have I am sure I will be creating many more. Purely for the fact that it’s so therapeutic.

This layered flower mandala is a 6 layer mandala and took a bit of cutting, however my Cricut 3 managed it beautifully, the cut was clean and crisp.

These Mandala SVG Free files will look great in all colours, however, I chose lilacs and peaches for a summery feel; it would also look great in red for a poinsettia look for Christmas. It’s a great file for so many craft projects, card making, framing as home decor and vinyl projects if used as a single layer.

Cutting Your Flower Mandala SVG/PNG Free Cut Files

When you send your Flower Mandala SVG/PNG files to your Cricut to cut, ensure you use your brayer to roll the paper, vinyl or card to adhere to the mat. The movement will affect the cut.

Line up all the layers in the design space to ensure they are perfectly sized and lined up. Remember you are using 6 colours so have the card stock ready to hand and really think about the colours. I chose lighter card stock for the top layer and darker foil craft board for the back layer to add depth and feel I achieved that.

If your cutting mat loses its stickiness, this will affect the quality of the cut. Also, make sure your mat is in good condition; this is vital for cutting intricate cuts such as floral paper cuts.

Additionally, make sure you set the material and cut pressure correctly to match whatever materials you’re cutting to get a clean cut. If you have any problems cutting, check the mat, pressure and material settings, as generally, this is where the problem will lie.

How to build you layered artwork

Assembling Your 3D Mandala

Start by laying out all 6 layers to ensure they line up.

I have suggested an order on the files which makes sense and the layers are numbered accordingly.

Start by placing the back mandala svg layer face up, and sticking foam pads to the corners of the back of your layer 2.

Now flip the layer over and position it onto the back layer, making sure it lines up.

Keep going layer by layer until you’ve finished.
