Hellooooo, how are you? I didn’t write a round up last week. For no other reason than I was swamped with work and jobs to do. And as lovely as the last 2 weeks have been sometimes you just dont seem to have so much to say do you?
Hasn’t the last couple of weeks been a mixed bag, the weather, the news there seems to have been so much going on. We have been battered by snow (thankfully it never stuck) wind and rain for the last couple of weeks. Sunday night I hardly slept and fully expected to wake up in munchkin land. It was fierce up here on our not so little hill.
So what have I been up to over the last couple of weeks?
The upside of all those fierce nights is the calm beautiful mornings. Some of the sunsets have been breathtaking. Theres nothing better than waking to a beautiful sunset is there?
Detoxing From Coffee
A couple of weeks ago my eye started twitching. Not so you could see it, but I could feel it, it was constant and driving me a little mad. After spending a lot of time with Dr. Google I worked out it was caffeine. That and working out that I drank between 7 and 10 strong coffees a day.
I know crazy, and I never realised I was sat at my desk with an everlasting stream of coffee. It has almost become a habit.
I made the decision to go cold turkey, BIG mistake I can’t even describe how painful that headache was! Thus I eventually weaned myself off to 2 coffees a day, I kid you not, I had no idea how addicted I was.
Two weeks later the twitching has stopped and I feel so much better, but my goodness, I had no idea for much coffee could affect you.
Watching The Lion King Movie
Sunday afternoons are for chilling and if you love Disney check out the new Lion King. OMG it is far better than the cartoon, I loved it! As the wind wrapped its way around our garden room, we sat inside with all the chaos outside in our little Disney bubble and it was glorious. Oh my, it’s made me seriously excited for the Lion King show!
Arranging My Wardrobe
This is something I had put off for ages and took me most of the day Sunday, I can’t believe I ended up with 2 bin bags for the charity shop, it was like stepping into Narnia. Yet I also discovered the odd pair of shoes I had never word so that was a win.
Finishing Off The Garden Room
Yay we are done. Well, apart from 2 pieces of beading and they don’t count. The final pieces of furniture have arrive and they were just wet we needed to finish off the room.
When it’s dark outside its like a haven, and in the morning as I do my yoga its glorious to see the daylight appear, right in front of my eye.
Bringing the outside and nature in totally accentuates the yoga experience. I can’t wait till the summer when I can throw open the doors and listen to the birds singing.
Anyhow if you fancy getting your hands on one of the fur bean bags in the picture check out my giveaway.
I have also promised the boys I will get back into the routine of baking and last weekend I started with Parkin. It was one of Chris’s Grandmas signature dishes and one we all love.
It’s was good to know I hadn’t lost it, my bake on lasted 48 hours. This week I have promised flap jacks, I am not sure I have made them before so watch this space.
I also whipped up a batch of pickled red cabbage, omg I am in love with red cabbage and never knew how easy it was to make.
Next week is one I am going into with trepidation, but also mega excitement. After an incredible Cruising With Kids blog audit with the lovely Cerys, Donna and I are furiously working thorough recommendations and lists.
There is so much work but it’s all so exciting. Cerys is a genius, if a blog audit is something you are pondering over, do it! I can’t wait to get my little blog booked in. However we need to get this list down a bit first.
There are also a few Cricut projects on the horizon next week, both very exciting so my mind is full of crafts and new ideas. I can’t wait to get started.
Plus its half term and Joe is off on a trip with the Air Cadets to Auschwitz. It will be sooooo quiet without him. But also as much as he has researched I am a little concerned he will find it quite hard. He is such a kind soul and learning about all that wickedness is tough for an adult. However he wants to go into the RAF and this is a part of history we can never forget.
Enjoy half term lovely people and see you on the other side.
