The Lion King, Up-Cycling And Curry

Share

Hello and how are you this rainy Friday? This week has flown hasn’t it? I imagine thats all the after Christmas catching up that is very much needed at the moment. However I am welcoming normal and routine with open arms it’s something we have craved for months and months.

This week has seen an awful lot of catching up, but also a few lovely experiences that have made January a pleasure.

Yesterday, omg have you seen it? I am a huge Beetles fan and have been for as long as I can remember. Can you imagine a world without them? The film is just incredible, and worth a watch if you are a fan or not.

And The Lion King

This week I attended a press preview of The Lion King Musical at the Palace Theatre in Manchester. It was like no event I have ever been to. As I arrived I was ushered backstage where a small intimate seating area had been set up with the theatre as the backdrop.

If you know how much I adore the theatre you will know how giddy this in itself made me?

However, then we were treated to a presentation of 3 of the song from the show by the lead principles, including Simba being played by Nick Afoa, it was breathtaking. The Circle of Life gave me goosebumps and the experience was one of those pinch me moments. Now I am desperate to see the whole show.

The Lion King will be showing at the Palace Theatre in Manchester in November, tickets go on sale Thursday 6 February 2020 at 8am and from what I have seen it promises to be stunning.

Cooked Curry

Ok, this isn’t new, its something we do every week, home made curry is one of my favourite meals. I shared my beef curry recipe last year, but have adapted it to a slimming world chicken version and its amazing.

Upcycled My Table

Last weekend I did a little upcycle on our kitchen table, the whole kitchen was designed around our table, however when we put it back it looked like something was missing.

Renovating My Kitchen Table

Thus we had a search in the shed and found some grey paint, so decided to go for it and paint the legs. This has created a little contrast between the rustic table top and floor. And am thrilled with the result, its just what I wanted to achieve.

Found A Yoga Chanel On YouTube

I haven’t been to yoga for months and I am really feeling it, it’s crazy that you ache more when you don’t go? But I really can feel the difference. My yoga teacher Kit is incredible, so my aim is to find my way back to her classes when I have time. Yet for now I have found a wonderful alternative.

Yoga With Adriene is a wonderful channel with lots of vlogs depending on time and level. However for now I am doing the 30 day challenge to get my body back into yoga and it feel great to be practicing again.

The Week Ahead?

Not very much, we have finishing off to do in the kitchen. The new skirting boards are here, hoorah, its been driving me mad! And the wire for the TV needs hiding behind the wall. Other than that I have some recipes to make and share and a few crafty and interior projects to create and share. Hope you have a wonderful week whatever you are up to?

  1. The Lion King sounds pretty amazing. I’d love to see it myself. I’d also love to see Yesterday, it sounds great and of course I couldn’t ‘imagine’ a world without The Beatles. I love what you have done to your table. We have an old wood table which is still in real good condition but I’m so bored of it. I’ve thought of painting it, but part painting looks so good. I’ll have to decided on a new colour scheme for my kitchen first though. x

  2. I agree, this week has flown over. It is good to be back into a routine.
Yes! I’ve seen Yesterday and I loved it. It was my teen who made me watch it and I’m glad she did. I’m not a big fan of the Beatles but it’s hard to imagine a world without them.
What an amazing experience you had at the press preview of The Lion King!
That curry looks very tasty and the table looks fab!
    Have a great weekend x

  3. Your kitchen looks fabulous. I love the map mural and the colour of the table legs does make all the difference. Your Lion King trip sounds impressive. They obviously put a lot of thought into the press preview, turning the view back to the theatre. I imagine the show will be just as well thought out. Hope you have a good weekend. #wotw

  4. Getting back into a routine makes all the difference to how you are feeling I think and it sounds like you are feeling much more positive. The Lion King sounds amazing, I saw the show at Disney World years ago and the music and costumes were just sensational. The table looks brilliant I love that colour. 5. Good luck with finishing off the kitchen. I love the look of the table. The Lion King event sounded amazing – The Circle of Life is such a wonderful number – for me that number alone was worth the ticket price. Did you get to see the masks up close too? Love the photos of them. Hope you are having a lovely weekend x #WotW
