Can you believe the holidays are nearly over, weeps. We have tried to really make the most of this summer. Yes, there are moments that Joe has not wanted to do a thing and I have had to work, but we have most certainly had a memorable summer. Made the most of every moment, and to say Joe was off for over a month being home schooled during the last term, the summer has not dragged at all.
What You Will Find Here
So what we have been up to and loved in the last week?
Walking Up Pendle Hill
We are trying to walk a little further on our nightly walks, but Chris really wanted to walk up Pendle Hill at the weekend. It is a gorgeous view when you get to the top, but its tough. And its steep, there are points where I can’t even look to the side as it makes me so dizzy. And I panic ever time Joe or Toby go near the edge.
But determined to conquer this I agreed to go this weekend. And I did it; I am not going to say I loved it. But getting to the top was satisfying. It is 577 meters high so felt an achievement and the views are incredible.
Celebrating Our 24th Wedding Anniversary
I can’t believe we have been married for 24 years, and we celebrated by going out for a family meal in a local country pub. Monday was such a cold rainy day and felt like the start of autumn especially as I had my first roast dinner of the year, which was delicious. And we had a lovely time laughing and planning over dinner.
Chris also sent me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers. And we may have booked a romantic trip to Ikos Oceania next September to celebrate 25 years. The boys were not too happy as we have booked for two. But they can’t really complain on the travel front can they? I know we have been before but I just love it there, the quality is amazing, and it’s not too far to fly for 5 nights.
Picking Blackberries
There are blackberries in abundance on our little country road, so Joe and I went picking the other day. Not only did we enjoy a wonderful walk in the sunshine but also Joe picked enough blackberries to make a delicious smoothie.
Wearing Beautiful Lingerie
I have kept up my resolution of only wearing pretty matching sets and adore this Lillianne set from Fantasie Lingerie. Yes, I harp on about this, but confidence comes from within and dressing to make yourself feel great is a positive step towards this.
Pretty New Shoes
I have been coveting Butterfly Twists since I saw them at Thessaloniki airport last year. But we were running late Chris was stressing so I never bought them. Any now this week I finally got a pair and omg I love them. They are ballet pumps that are foldable. BUT they are still super comfy. Honestly these shoes are not only super cute, but they fold up and fit in your handbag, perfect for trips to London and city breaks, even nights out.
To be honest they are far too pretty to be in your bag. But a few pairs of these on a weekend break gives you shoe choice and comfort I love that. I struggled choosing and went for this pretty beige slightly sparkly shoe with a metallic toe, but there are a few I want, starting with the ever so pretty leopard print pair oh and the flip-flops and don’t get me started on the silver pumps.
Eating Brunch With The Saucy Fish Co
On Thursday I headed into Manchester to spend a day with the lovely people from the Saucy Fish Co and eat a 4-course fish brunch. And it was so delicious. I could eat Salmon for every meal so this was right up my street. It gave me so many amazing brunch ideas, and watch this space as I will be sharing a recipe on here soon.
And for the week ahead?
This weekend we are having dinner at friends and have lots of jobs to do at home. Starting with organising my wardrobe! I have been putting it off for so long.
And then it will all be about routine and getting organised in the mornings. Joe is ready for it, and I have a feeling we are going to be rushed off our feet until Christmas.
Have a wonderful week whatever you get up too,

What stunning views! Sounds like quite the climb, but worth it for those spectacular views. A belated Happy Anniversary to you, 24 years is wonderful. A blackberry smoothie sounds delicious, and healthy, as I’d have gone down the crumble route! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x
Happy wedding anniversary!
Your new shoes are dainty and looks lovely! I just realized that I have been wearing trainers for as long as I remember and I need something this pretty in my life =)

I walked to the top of Pendle Hill years ago when I was a lot younger and fitter and it nearly finished me off ! It is worth it for the view though like you said. What a lovely surprise for your anniversary, 25 years next year definitely calls for a celebration holiday. You take the most amazing photo’s Sarah, you really have a creative eye I love your photography. Hope you have a lovely weekend x
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary, a holiday for next year sounds great. I love your flowers, you lingerie and your shoes, all very pretty.

Congratulations on your anniversary! And how lovely you’ve booked a holiday for your 25th anniversary. That hotel is amazing – not jealous at all (much!). Those shoes are cute, I love shoes you can just pop in your bag – not that I enjoy many night dancing the night away in heels anymore, but they’d be fab to take away with you to give you more choice with minimal space taken up.
Hope Joe has a great first week back at school x
