My Weekly Round Up And Wales

Share

It’s been another action packed week in the Christie household. We have just arrived home from visiting Swansea Bay and the Mumbles in Wales, after a crazy couple of days seeing what the region has to offer families. And we have had the best time.

Can you believe we are over half way through the holidays? Joe can-not say he hasn’t done anything this summer. I think we have exhausted him.

This is what I have loved this week

Enjoying a Long Country Walk and A Pub Lunch

Last weekend we made the most of the gorgeous weather and went on a long country walk to a nearby village. We decided to treat ourselves half way with wine an a pub lunch before walking back. We also stopped of at our local village park on the way to see the creation of the local WI. Last year they created a display with jeans, this year to celebrate the Centenary of the WI they made ballerinas.

I look forward to their displays as they are always so creative.

Planning Trips With The Sunday Times Travel Magazine

I throw the towel in with Why Mummy Drinks, it just does not inspire me to read. I have not picked it up all week. However, I have been leafing through the pages of the Sunday Times Travel Magazine. It’s such a great place for travel inspiration. I am trying to get a few ideas and inspiration for next year.

Tried Out The New Tili Box From QVC

This is such a great way to try out new products, the Tili box is a monthly subscription full of sample sizes products to try out. I love the idea of being able to try out new products every month and get al little parcel of goodness delivered to my door. And at £20 it’s a great way of trying new products.

I am particularly loving the Elemis Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil, Benefit They’re Real Mascara and INC.redible Glazin Over Lip Gloss.

Watching An Officer And A Gentleman The Musical

It has been years since I watched the movie, but if you were around at the time you will know what an impact it had. Everyone I knew fell in love with Richard Gere, it was the love story of the year. I wasn’t sure quite how this would work in a show. But much the same as Mamma Mia the show score was written to fit in some of the best songs of the 80s. Although it has sad part it was such a feel good show I loved it.

Exploring Swansea Bay And The Mumbles

We have had the most wonderful week exploring Swansea Bay And The Mumbles. I can’t wait to share more it’s such a stunning region. It really made me ask myself why we don’t spend more time exploring the UK. I know there is a world to get out and see, but there is also so much on our doorstep.

Learning To Surf

And I can’t wait to share our photos from the day we all learnt to surf. I was terrified. But hey last week I swam with sharks, so I thought why not! And we all loved it. I can’t even describe the feeling when you catch a wave. Joe mastered it in no time and wants to go on a surfing holiday now, he has well and truly caught the bug.

Climbing A Tree

Not just a tree trekking experience, but climbing up a real tree with a rope. Omg it was so high, I was shaking. If I had fallen Chris and Joe were holding the rope that would save me. This is an activity that takes total trust and faith, it was physically hard but I did it. And we all had the best time.

This weekend we have a family get together planned. Apart from that and a swim I plan to sleep. Its been a crazy wonderful week. But now I am ready to chill. Have a fab weekend whatever you are up to.

  2. Swansea looked amazing, you packed in so much. I often just give up with books, life’s too short to read a bad book to the end. I hope the rest of the summer holidays are as exciting for you x

  4. Looks like a very varied and fun week, Sarah. Wales has the most beautiful beaches and if you can catch them in the sun – even better! I’ve never been to Mumbles but have experienced a lot of Wales as my husband grew up there. Well done to your son for standing up on his board! xx

  5. Gosh, so many adventures! I like browsing through travel magazines too to get inspiration for future trips and places to add to our travel bucket list. And you’ve tackled so many of your fears head on as well – sharks, surfing and heights. I’m so impressed. Wales looks beautiful – somewhere we’ve not explored yet.
