My Weekly Round Up And Clarity

This week has been filled with trying to run my little blog and home school

I am managing to set a daily schedule for Joe to keep to and get on with my own work, which I have to say, is a bit of a juggling act but we are managing. We have also had a meeting at a great school, the head teacher was amazing and made me feel there is a chance to start to learn to trust the education system again.  I really do feel like we have a little more clarity at this stage.

The result of all of this soul-searching and organising is that I feel a million times more positive.

Its time to move on and put all that negativity behind us, 6 months of grief is enough for any family to put up with.

As part of Joe’s art lesson we made a cushion for his bedroom. He has had to work on English and Maths too, but I have tried to give him creative tasks I know he will love. The cushion has turned out so well, of course he wanted to do something double layered and a little more complex but it looks amazing.

Joe and I are making the most of education experiences and went into Manchester to watch the War Horse at the Lowry. And wow it was incredible, I honestly thought I would not get my head around the animals being giant puppets. But before you know it you forget the animals are being handled and they take on a life of their very own. They were truly works of art.

Review of the war horse at the Lowry

The story is quite brutal in parts, but is a wonderful look back in history and how the war affected people from all sides, Joe left saying it was the best show he had ever seen. And I have to say we were all on the edge of our seats at some stage, it was wonderful.

Before the show we had a wander over to Media City for a spot of dinner, it’s so lovely to incorporate nice trips into his education. I know its stuff we would normally do but I feel I am currently looking at the education value of things until he is safely tucked up at school again.

I am now in preparation mode for our next holiday, woohooo Caribbean beaches here we come. So of course I need another swimsuit. Eeek I might have a few on order! But you can never have too many great fitting swimsuits and here is my new Paradise Bay Tankini from the new collection at Fantasie. Isn’t it gorgeous? I love how you buy these to your bra size they are so flattering and feel great on.

Thinking back I have always been obsessed with great swimwear, as a teen I used to spend ages choosing the right costume. And when I was an apprentice I remember buying a designer costume that at the time was around £80 bearing in mind my wage was only £29.50? My mum went mad and made me take it back ha ha.

In The Home

We all know how much I adore suitcases, well check out these beauties. If I am going to store things at home I may as well do it beautifully. Check out these gorgeous Bundle Berry storage trunks from QVC I have been coveting them for quite some time.

And I am thrilled with them; they are wonderful for storing all my products. I even have a holiday preparation box. Yes, I am a total geek! The thing is with my slight addiction to products and hair equipment, storage is key. And I think I may have just solved that. The only problem is now; I want a blue set for my new office when we move.

I am currently reading My Big Greek summer by Sue Roberts. It’s the perfect holiday read. One of those books that’s not to heavy and just makes you smile. I love Mandy the main character and her decision to just take off when life was not great. I can’t wait to see what happens.

And for next week?

This weekend we are taking part in a charity pub walk in our local villages. It’s an annual event to raise money for our local hospice. Which involves a 10 mile walk and as many pubs, the weather is not looking clever but we will be with lots of friends so will have a great day regardless.

And Joe and I are also off to see Awful Aunty at the Opera House in Manchester next week. I adore how David Walliams weaves wonderful life lessons into all of his stories. They are fun but have real meaning and lessons at the core. We also have dinner planned at Harvey Nichols for a pre theatre treat so I am looking forward to that.

Have a wonderful weekend whatever you are up to?

So pleased you’re getting some clarity and fingers crossed for that school you’ve found. Sounds like you’re managing to juggle the home ed, and the trips out are crammed with value and fun too. Loving those suitcases! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

I always wonder how people manage to home ed and run a business. I’d definitely spend too much time researching. So glad to hear that you’ve found another school that looks promising. Hope Joe is happy there, although I’m sure he is going to miss all your fun trips. #wotw

Tracey I am almost scared to think it will never end but am feeling hopeful. It has truly been horrific and these parents that allow that behaviour and turn a bling eye truly sicken me. Yes we have a fab day planned Wednesday with another theatre trip. And woohooo St Lucia here we come I cant wait x
