I know I know I have used that title before but trust me this weeks travel chaos beats it all. The week has been manic, fun and at times frustrating all rolled into one. A week which has involved wonderful trips to London, planning kitchens, more school meeting and trips to the hospital. Yes another one of our children has been on crutches. I am so hoping he makes a miraculous recover for the weekend, and have a sneaking suspicion that he will.

On Tuesday I popped down to London for a meeting with the lovely team from Cricut and got to watch a few demos of the iron on transfer tape . If I thought I loved my machine before? Now, well I am just so excited about some of the things I can do with it. This little machine is the thing of miracles. The problem is I am a little addicted.
This week I have been having a play; I fear that if it is not able to run away, I may just customising it. The ideas are buzzing around in my mind. My next project being a cushion, I can’t wait to get started.
Of course I adore getting the opportunity to spend a day in London and was feeling quite smug after a smooth trip down on the train. Apart from a delightful afternoon tea and getting the opportunity to meet with some wonderful people and talk all things Cricut. I also got a little time to just wander. Anyone that reads my blog knows I do love a wander in a city.
The trip home was not so pleasant! When I arrived at Leeds I was told my train to Burnley had been cancelled and I would have to get train to Huddersfield where the staff assured all the stranded passengers there would be a bus waiting.
To cut a long story short there was no bus! And we had to get a group together to get a taxi back to Burnley. But out of disaster always comes adventure and it was the funniest journey with 8 strangers. There is nothing more interesting than other people’s stories is there? We laughed and chatted all the way back.
Made
I couldn’t wait to personalise something with all of my Cricut goodies so made myself a mug. Being left-handed I never get a logo on the front. Well woohooo now I have my very own left-handed mug.
And if you pop over to the Denby blog I am sharing one of my fave healthy winter recipes. Chicken and vegetable garlic bake with couscous. It is DELICIOUS and so easy to make. Perfect for a quick midweek meal but also goes down very well at dinner parties.
Read
I am still reading “How To Be Happy by Eva Wood”. It one of those books you can’t put down. A lovely story but I am also holding my breath a bit as I am sure the ending is going to be a little bit heart breaking. It would make the best movie!
Heard
On Friday I got to have a tour around the Magnet store in Blackburn. It was so great getting to hear about the new technologies available. I can’t wait to share all the pics I took. I might have also planned a kitchen Island; we just need to get the house we love now.
Wore
I need to step up on this one I haven’t taken a pic of myself in ages.
Tried
Contouring is something that had passed me by, however this week I have been trying out Julep Cushion Complexion 5 in 1 Perfectors. They work as great highlighters and blenders. But also perfect for lightening under the eyes. I have to say I love the consistency and coverage they give. There is nothing better than finding new make up bag heroes. And under eye brighteners are either fab or totally ineffective. Julep 5 in 1s totally falls in to the FAB camp.
This weekend we are off to Center Parcs. It’s our 17th family trip and somewhere we just love visiting. We are travelling with friends and so looking forward to a bit of chill time. Check out my stories if you fancy a peek at life in the forest.
Have a great weekend whatever you are up to!

Definitely a chaotic week, but it sounds mostly fun as well. I wouldn’t have liked being stranded after getting off the train though. Have a great weekend.

Thanks Anne, yes it was a bit of a challenge but I got home in the end x
What a week! I spotted your Magnet trip on Instastories – loving some of those clever kitchens! Glad you had fun in London, though how frustrating on the journey home. You are going Cricut crazy, I love it! x Thanks for sharing with #WotW
I know how cool are some of those gadgets I just loved the ranges on offer, and yes I am totally ! x
A shame your lovely London trip ended with such disaster with public transport; the taxi back sounds interesting… Haha! Having a wonderful time on your little weekend away #WotW
Jade it was actually ok, a bit of a drama but a great story to tell x
Aaah I WISH I’d be with you for the Cricut day — what a shame. You’re absolutely right — it sounds just up my street. It might have taken my mind off next week too!!! Your journey home sounded CRAZY!! Thank goodness you met some lovely people! Love you lots xxx
You would have loved it Caro I felt so giddy, and yes it was blooming crazy but fun, love you lots too xx
You’re right How to be Happy would make a wonderful movie – not sure I could make it through without absolutely sobbing though! I loved that book, definitely one of my favourites. I love seeing all your Cricut makes, I don’t have a single crafty bone in my body :-(. Have a great time at Center Parcs x
I think it was your recommendation thank you so much, do you know I bet Cricut would make you crafty it is sooooooo easy x
I saw your travel chaos on insta-stories it’s fab that despite the frustration you could still laugh about it all. That casserole looks amazing, none of my fussy eaters would eat it of course but I would definitely tuck in. I’ve wrote about eye bags in my little loves this week too, great minds and all that. I love a good product that makes me look a little less baggy. Have a wonderful weekend x
It was mad but made me smile and yes i do love a great brightening product x
Oh bless you your journey home sounds horrific but at least you made a bad situation laughable. The trip to london though sounds ace. I used to do more there and have some fun girlie crafty days out with events need to go again I miss it so much. I am not good at crafty but I like to give it a go. Happy weekend ahead #littleloves
I love crafting I find it so calming, I cant wait to move and get a crafting room so its all set up ready. The journey was frustrating but it did make me laugh x
I will be addicted too if I have cricut! Such a lovely and busy weekend you have and as always you have the loveliest photos.
This also made me remember my sister as she is left handed too! She needs a mug like that as well =)
#wotw
Ah thanks so much Merlinda, I know people laugh at left handed mugs but its all about where the logo is x
Busy week! I wouldn’t have been happy to find there was no bus but all’s well that ends well as they say 🙂
I wasn’t happy at all, they put people at so much risk its awful but it all turned out well in the end no thanks to Northern Rail x
Sounds like a busy week for you. I also visited London and whilst I love it I am always glad to come back to the coast. Hope you have enjoyed your weekend at Center Parcs xx
Center Parcs was amazing we had the best time and yes I am the same love visiting London but love coming home to the country x
Hope you having a lovely time away. I am quite jealous I want a Cricut so badly and even more so now I have seen your mug.
Great post #Littleloves
Kara I can honestly say its a great investment I blooming love mine x
That Cricut machine looks and sounds amazing!! I saw the little video of you making your S cup the other day and was completely fascinated by it. Also, I’m on my way over to read that recipe post on the Denby website, it sounds delicious – and well done on that collaboration by the way. I love all the Denby stuff, they’re absolutely timeless and classic.
Ah thanks so much Heledd and yes I adore Denby so am just thrilled, and I love my Cricut its so easy to use x
That dish sure does sound delicious and I love the creative mug. #WotW
Ah thanks Helena it tastes so amazing and I am thrilled with the mug x
I love this post, sounds like you’ve had a really busy week – that make up looks fab Sarah and that dish of food is making my mouth water. Have a great week x
Love that you managed to make yourself a left-handed mug. It never occurred to me before that being left-handed would mean that the logo wasn’t at the front! Glad that you managed to get home despite your nightmare trip and that the last leg ended up being fun. Hope that you had a wonderful time at Center Parcs at the weekend 🙂 #WotW
Ha ha i know its a silly thing but it has always bugged me, and thank you Louise we had the best weekend, so much so we have re booked x
I LOVE a day trip to London. but oh boy, that trip home sounds like right old nightmare! Good job you could see the positive side to it and you ended up banding together with your fellow stranded travellers!
That food looks incredible and I could eat a big portion of it right about now 😉
It was a little crazy but you know these things happen for a reason and it was nice to listen to other peoples stories x
