My Top Moments Of 2017

Oh my, I may have chosen a few to many photos for this post! But wow what a year in so many ways its been incredible, life changing, exciting. Live for now has been our family motto for quite a few years and I am so glad we have that outlook.

It makes for lots of adventure and good times, yes we are busy MOST of the time. But its all wonderful memories and time spent together.

For me time spent together is key! Of course this has been a year of change for us a family. Joe starting High School and Jack leaving high School, it was all a bit traumatic.

GCSEs and SATS all in one year, revision tables and plans and the floor pacing waiting for results. High School appeals and then realising this might have been the biggest mistake I have ever made. That is my New Years Resolution. To sort out the high school mess one way or another. It’s a great School so I hope there is a solution.

Jack stepped away from the blog a little this year which was sad, I suppose this is part of growing up. I accept that as a teen it’s not even cool to be seen in public with your parents, let alone on the internet. Thankfully he seemed to have chilled a little in this area.

We have travelled together, laughed together. Taken part in a charity pub walk with friends which was the most wonderful day. Looking back reminds me of those glorious sunny days. Time with friends and family making wonderful memories. We have really packed it in. I plan to get the camera out in 2018 a little more. I have taken less family pictures this year, mainly because of how Jack felt. Thankfully I do have photos, lots, but not as many as I would like.

I have also travelled alone quite a bit this year, this has been an incredible journey where I have made new friends and found adventure along the way. Visiting Greece, Lanzarote and Germany and attending some incredible blog conferences.

For me its all about looking for creative inspiration, getting my mind going, being unique and not going with the crowd. That can be hard, looking where every one else is going and going in the opposite direction. Not because they are wrong, I love all the blogs I read and how us parent bloggers rock what we do, each and every one is amazing. I do it because I want to be me, influenced by nothing and no one and we are bringing the boys up to be the same, true to themselves.

So far I have 1 solo trip planned for 2018 but hope to find more adventure along the way.

Its been a lucky year for the Christie family too, I was so thrilled to be chosen as a Mark Warner Mum, it’s the most wonderful club to be part of. Mark Warner has to be Joe’s favourite holiday ever.

And then in December we found out we had won the Elite Island Family Competition and will be heading to the Caribbean this year woohooo. We are all soooooo excited.

The year ahead holds lots of change for us all very exciting but here on my little space I will continue to be me. To share what I like and love, and if I don’t like it, it doesn’t deserve a space here.

Anyhow I have waffled enough, if you fancy a mooch here are few of my fave moments of 2017, some aren’t here some of those moments I missed with the camera.

Here’s to a great 2107 and wishing health and happiness for 2018! I adore how a photo can take you right back to a moment in time. To what you were doing, how you were feeling, even that the weather was that day. And that is why despite the boys protests some days I will still be there snapping away.

Ahhhh so many wonderful memories for you Sarah and what a wonderful year. Though you need a medal for getting through GCSEs, SATS and leaving primary AND high school in the same year. I was a mess and I only had half of that emotion. Looking forward to following your adventures in 2018 lovely lady xx
