My Weekly Round Up, Little Loves, And A Catch Up Week

15th July 2017 by SarahJChristie 8 Comments

Hello and how has your week been? Mine has been a week of catching up and organisation. That includes catching up with the gym. I hadn’t been for 3 weeks arghh. Spinning on Tuesday morning was fine. And was a little stressed due to a certain stroppy teen so my anger carried me through that lesson like a breeze ha ha.

However I am feeling a little achy after yoga yesterday. I love yoga and had missed it so much, but found the lesson a bit of a challenge after not attending for 4 weeks. I forgot how much I adore the relaxation part, but had to keep stopping myself from drifting off, as I was conscious I was snoring. And today I can really feel it!

Lots of laughter, as last weekend we went to a celebration of a really good friend. Not only was she celebrating a birthday but also a achieving a huge goal. It was lovely to be there celebrating alongside wonderful friends and hoorah for glorious weather. Although it was one of those days that maybe a little too much gin may have been consumed.

Made

A delicious lavender G&T, I am not a fan of sweet gin at all so was a little concerned I wouldn’t like this. However my love of lavender cocktail and downright nosiness inspired me to try it anyway. Mason’s Dry Yorkshire Gin, Lavender Edition was a pleasant surprise. I love it, it has a real taste of Lavender but with notes of anise and pin gives it a drier and fresher flavour.

Wore

A bit of a cheat as this is from a couple of weeks ago. However this week I shared some pictures from my trip to Greece and my new summer dresses from Next, which I just love. Getting the chance to wear summer dresses is wonderful isn’t it? I just love this time of year and holidays in the sun.

This fab post by the lovely Suzanne about being 40, it’s a great read. Being 40 is no big deal and for me it has been amazing. I have been braver and had so much fun. And was 40 when I started my blog, one of the best career decisions I have ever made. The funny thing is I had my very own post in the working and published it yesterday, its from a slightly different angle but still demonstrates why age is just a number. Catch my post here. And remember the only way to do any age is to rock it.

At the moment we are loving Harry Potter on Saturday mornings, which means I get nothing done but I LOVE Harry Potter. I am a total Potter geek so love snuggling up with Joe and a coffee to watch a movie. Honestly I could never get bored with the films and have also read all the books. And was one of those people who bought each book on the day it was released. I cried when I first visited Warner Brother Studio’s. I KNOW A TOTAL GEEK, but what’s not to love.

Today we are off for a family meal, and trying to organise cupboards a little at home. So have loads to keep us busy. And next week is a huge week as Joe leaves primary school. I am not going to lie I am dreading it. I cried buckets at Jacks leavers’ ceremony and have already shed a tear when I heard Joe practicing the leavers’ song. Wish me luck I think I am going to need it.

Have a lovely week whatever you are up to

Celebrating your friends birthday and recent achievement sounds lovely, as does starting a Saturday with Harry Potter. I hope you (& the family) have had a lovely weekend.

That’s a great dress, you look fab in it and what a backdrop! No, I could never tire if Harry Potter either, and it’s lovely seeing my kids get into it, too. Good luck at the assembly. My son has his nursery leavers assembly this week and that’ll get me, even though they’re only moving next door with their mates! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

Oh gosh I’m so with you on being a Harry Potter geek! My husband and eldest daughter are too. The 6 year old is very non-plussed by it, to our complete horror! haha
Love the dress, you look fab in it! xx

Nothing like dealing with teen angst to push you thorough a workout. Lavender gin sounds lovely, I’m not a big drinker but I tried a few different flavoured gins at the foodies festival and really enjoyed them. I hope this week has gone well for Joe it’s such an emotional time x #LittleLoves

Would you believe that I have never watched or read any of the Harry Potter books or films (I can sense you are shaking your head at me lol). Hope you have got through this past week which has no doubt been filled with lots of emotion, and the leavers assembly went well today. And god the teenage angst, it can certainly drive you up the wall can’t it x

Love the sound of the lavender G&T! I can imagine that Joe leaving primary school will be emotional – I cried lots today just over Jessica’s last day in Reception! Hope you enjoyed your family meal 🙂
