I am a total interiors geek I know! But I just can’t resist a new trend. There are some seasons I just haven’t got the new and exciting. It isn’t always my cup of tea. And I struggle to find a few bits to update our home. This year however is quite the opposite. The blend of vintage modern and industrial is just inspiring. I find myself lusting over so many pieces and want to buy it all.
When I nipped to London last week for the SS17 Next press show I knew from the summer trends that I would love the autumn collection. Trends blend don’t they? With certain pieces being carried on through seasons, but with richer stronger colours to inspire us in the cold and gloomy winter months. It’s always exciting to see what colours are going to inspire us and make us smile for the season ahead. And this is exactly what Next have done. Created an inspired collection of jewel tones but with a natural twist to brighten those winter days.
Collections include the beyond Modern collection, which embraces the Scandi style but giving it a retro influence, which all looks and feels so modern and bright yet has a cozy edge to it. Whilst the Salvage collection being an absolute firm favourite of mine at the moment brings in that city loft style living influence that also lends itself to country living with a vintage reclamation twist.
For the country home the Country Luxe collection and Cultivate collection offer that timeless feel with a real focus on winter fruits and vegetables in earthy but rich and warm tones of purple, green and orange.
Not liking to be one to conform I love nothing better than mixing and matching collections to create my own interiors style. And having such a wonderful palette to choose from this season is so exciting.
It was hard to choose my stand out faves from the collection, as it was all so stylish. However the black industrial lighting is so cool and would fit so well into any kitchen. It would look great as an over island or dining table piece.
And the New York bedding is so very stylish and fresh. I am thinking this is the way forward for my autumn bedroom.
Oh and check out the geometric mirror, gold is definitely here to stay this year, and looking so much more stylish that ever before.
