My Weekly Round Up, And Chaos

13th May 2017 by SarahJChristie 7 Comments

I have no idea where to start this week has been mad. Exciting but mad and total chaos. One of those I need to pinch myself weeks.

It started out with a busy weekend of meeting friends, 40th parties and family time. And making sure the boys were prepared for the week ahead. Joe had SATs week but was thankfully feeling very calm and a little excited about it all.

When I dropped him off Monday morning I gave him a big hug and promising to nip to Covent Gardento get him a magnetic man from Pylones. If you haven’t been to Pylones check it out it is such a cool little shop. When I spend time in London I nip in for a treat for Joe and share it on my Insta stories so he can see it.

I caught a mega busy train to London for a couple of days of madness. I had arranged to meet Donna, we had initially thought we might do a street art walk, but the sky was grey and not great for photos. However Donna always being a mine of odd information had discovered a little shop/museum called the House of MinaLima.

It displays some of the work of Miraphora (Mina) and Eduardo (Lima) if you haven’t heard of them, they are the people behind the graphic design art work of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies. And wow if you are a Harry Potter geek like me it is incredible. It’s only a tiny shop with a tour over a couple of floors but it is fascinating, I took quite a few pictures so am going to share a post soon, but if you are in London it is well worth a visit.

We finished our evening off wandering and chatting, and stopping for the odd G&T and Tapas. But I love those sort of days, no rushing just taking in the sights of the city.

Tuesday was a total different kettle of fish; with a very exciting little project, which I can’t wait to share.

I had a really fun day. I love watching and listening to people as they work sometimes you can really learn a lot by listening.

Whilst I was in London I also got the check out a few new collections with HomeSense and F&F. And I have to say there are some gorgeous styles and colours about. I will share them in the week.

I also got to check out the Bioderma, Photoderm sun-care range, it was a real eye opener. Bioderma is a prescription range so has different face creams for different skin types. This is a wonderful idea as it offers protection for more sensitive skins, pigmentation and acne. I have also never considered using a factor 50 protection with a tanning agent built-in. What an amazing idea to not burn; protect your skin and still tan? One product I am particularly excited about is a kid’s factor 50 that you apply like whipping cream and is great for sensitive skin. Perfect for Joe who seems to have developed a bit of an allergy to some sun creams.

I arrived home Wednesday evening exhausted but having had so much fun. So glad to see all the Christie boys and go for a long country walk and breathe in the gorgeous fresh country air. I love the fact that I have the best of both worlds.

This weekend we have my fmily coming to visit, so our little house will be packed to the rafters and full of laughter, but that’s what homes are for isn’t it? Filling with families and happy memories.

Have a lovely week what ever you are up too and I hope that sunshine comes back soon.

Homes certainly are made for those things. Sounds like London is the place to be to find out what the latest trend is. I could be tempted to see the Harry Potter things. I saw the Lord of the Rings exhibition a long time ago and love watching what happens in the making of a film. #WotW
