My Weekly Round Up, Education And Fashion

20th May 2017 by SarahJChristie 6 Comments

What on earth happened to the weather arghhhh. There is just no consistency at all. It’s all well and good this chopping and changing of weather but I have no idea what to wear. And it’s not just one day to the next, we can have severe changes in one blooming day.

My week stated with a visit from my family. It was wonderful to spend a few days together and all catch up and chill together. Fortunately the weather was gorgeous too! That always makes a huge difference doesn’t it? Sadly I never took a single photo. But sometimes you just need a weekend off don’t you?

The rest of the week has been mainly consumed by GCSEs. Making sure Jack is prepared and ready. And making sure it was not all about nagging and checking he was revising.

I was conscious that I wanted him to feel confident in his abilities and relaxed about the whole process. It’s a huge deal for them isn’t it? And yes it is our role to ensure they are putting the work in. But home also has to be his safe place. Somewhere he can revise, but also chill out and relax.

And apart from one day when he had an awful migraine he seems to have taken it all in his stride.

We also had Joe’s high School appeal this week. I have not talked about it before as we did not tell Joe we were appealing. But once the news of him not getting his first choice settled in he was so upset. He didn’t say anything for a week then it all came out how upset he was. So we appealed in secret to prevent him getting his hopes up. We were able to give him the great news this week and he was over the moon bless him. We are too, Jacks school is a wonderful School that feels like a family, I am so glad Joe will get to enjoy that experience too.

Apart from that I have been busy keeping up with blog life.

On Thursday I head down to London the Next AW17 press show. I really love some of the new trends for the autumn in interiors and fashion. There are some amazing vibrant colours around. I can’t wait to share my faves.

This weekend I am looking forward to the lovely Katie visiting, we aim to blog over dinner and wine. And on Sunday we are off to Manchester for Blog On Conference, which is always eventful. I love getting the chance to meet up with other bloggers and swapping hints and tips, it can be so inspirational.

Next week I am hoping for a little calm in the Christie household with Math’s and English GCSE’s being a large part of the week, I will be glad when it is all over and we can all breathe.

You spend years building up to this moment and when it arrives it feels s bit sad. Like when Jacks prom suit arrived this week. And he brought his year 11 yearbook home. I felt a little tearful. But of course it is wonderful to see them grow up into confident and kind young men too.

When I sat down I thought I had nothing to say ha ha. But this confirms what most of my friends and family say; I am never lost for words!

Have a lovely week whatever you are up too, and lets hope the sun shines next week.

The weather has been awful, though I think it’s on the up soon – I hope so! So pleased Jack’s taking his GCSE’s in his stride, sounds like you’ve got the balance right with support, and that’s brilliant news about Joe’s school! What a relief! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

Ah I’m so pleased that you made your son’s day by appealing and getting the news you wanted to hear. May he have many lovely memorable times there. As for the weather it’s certainly crazy right now! It’s no wonder thoughts have been turning to Autumn/Winter with the rain. #WotW
