I have chatted a bit about the river cruise party I attended at Traverse a couple of weeks ago. Being a sucker for a beautiful view and for me being a real lover of our great city this ticked all the boxes.
I had done a river cruise many years ago, it was a scorching hot day and it was an inside boat. The only way to do one of these cruising in great weather is on top deck with a good camera.
That is exactly what I did for most of the cruise, stood on top deck marvelling at the breathtaking view and how lucky we are to have London as our capital. Of course I did have time to indulge in the odd glass of fizz with all my lovely blogging pals, it would have been rude not, too wouldn’t it?

Top tip, choose your time of day wisely. If you love a magnificent sunset then this is the best way to see one in London, either that or very high up. But the reflection of the water made it all the more special for me.
As we passed the Thames Barrier the light was relaxing beautifully across it, making the exterior almost light up, it was a glorious sight. And as we sailed the river the sun went down, with the evening clouds having an almost spotty effect making the sky appear even more beautiful.
Gorgeous photos from your river cruise. I love the light on the Thames Barrier and the photo of the Tower of London 🙂
Thanks so much Louise, it was so beautiful and we were so lucky with the weather x
What wonderful photos – it is great to see the images from the Thames itself. I hope you had a great time x
I had a fab time thanks Victoria, it was amazing x
Such a lovely way to admire the highlights of London with no traffic to contend with.
Exactly Fiona it was perfect x
Oh wow!
You captured London beautifully!
Thanks so much x
Love this idea. I’ve done a City Cruise but you’re on the boat with several hundred friends on those, not quite the same thing. Love the Thames Barrier image. I’d love to go past that on a boat. #MySundayPhoto
Yes that made it all the more special John I have to say x
I love the tower bridge shot! The Thames barrier shot is really atmospheric too. #Mysundayphoto
