My Weekly Round Up, And German Christmas Markets

I am sat writing my weekly round up at Stuttgart Airport

This time last week I had no idea I was going? How mad is that? Thus I did not achieve a quiet week. But who needs quiet when you can live for today and be a little spontaneous.

The 1st of December was the perfect date to visit real German Christmas Markets; I have come away feeling so festive. It was my first trip to Germany and what a beautiful country it is. It certainly won’t be my last. The architecture is the stuff of fairy tales and really something very special. I can’t wait to share all I got up too.

It is somewhere Chris and the boys will just love, as I have mentioned before Joe is desperate to visit the V8 hotel and all the car museums so this is definitely somewhere I plan to take him. Especially now that I have seen just how incredible the region is for myself. There is so much for families to do.

I have also tried to do a little Christmas prep this last week

I say a little, because I got hardly any done! But it’s a start, however it is time to get my head down and get Christmas sorted.

We have been doing a little of winter clothes shopping too, the winter has really hit now hasn’t it so its time for comfy but stylish sweaters and winter boots. Ready for all those country walks, and snow.

This weekend I plan to chill and apart from a couple of football matches we are pretty free.

A roaring fire and mulled wine is definitely on the cards for today. Maybe even watch the first festive movie of the season. Joe and I intend to chill out and veg a bit, something we very rarely get the chance to do.

During the week we nipped to Homebase for a new Christmas tree and decorations; meaning tomorrow will be all about decorating the tree cooking a roast dinner. It is possible one of my favourite days of the year, a lovely chilled family day.

I have not managed a gin of the week, but that is because it has been all about Gluhwein this week, and yum I love it. According to one of our incredible guides Patrick it is all about the Quality of the wine. It seemed to tasted so much better in Germany, but maybe that was the atmosphere?

Have a lovely weekend whatever you are up too and catch up next week.

I was so excited that you got to visit the German markets Sarah. I bet the atmosphere was incredible, and all the amazing food and drink. I have never tried Gluhwein and usually opt for a mulled wine when we go to the Christmas markets in the UK. Hope you managed a quiet weekend back at home x
