Total Chaos, My Weekly Round-Up

Every week is manic over here in the Christie household; it just seems to be how we roll.

We are incapable of calm and chilled. In fact it is a rarity. But this week has been on another level of manic madness. It has flown by so quickly I almost feel I have lost a week of my life it has been total chaos.

It’s been one of those weeks; I have laughed cried, felt happy and sad. Caught up with friends and family, and said goodbye to loved ones. This week has taught me one thing. Live for today and have no regrets. Weeks like this make me so grateful that I chose happiness over daily grind and stability a year ago. Because you honestly never know what is around the corner.

Last weekend we had a little time for catching up with friends and long country walks, which is something we haven’t done for ages. I am hoping the winter will bring lots more of these. Because there is nothing better than a Sunday walk and a roast dinner is there?

And then Monday morning I was up bright and early to head down to London with the lovely Karen, Donna and lots of other lovely bloggers for WTM. Travel is an absolute passion and something I think about all of the time, so to spend a couple of days immersed in all things travel is a dream. Karen and I stayed at the Le Meridien Piccadilly, which was fab, right in the centre of London, and perfect for exploring and of course shopping. I can’t wait to share more about that.

It is also the perfect location for visiting London with the family.

I have been saying for 2 years we are going to spend more time in London and next year I am going to make sure that happens, the boys love London and the Le Meridien is the perfect base to explore from.

I really feel like winter has arrived this week.

We had snow in Lancashire, only a light dusting. But I have a feeling it is going to be the first of many this year. It has felt so cold that I nipped to TK Maxx for a winter coat. Living in the country means I have a cupboard full of big snuggly walking coats. But I really needed a nice coat, something to wear in the city that looks good with a dress or jeans. I was thrilled when I discovered this oversized slouchy coat, it is so warm, and I just love the style of it.

And Gin of the week this week is this delicious Gooseberry Gin from Demijohn Liquid Deli.

Demijohn is such a great concept, you can choose from many delicious sounding flavour combinations. And the bottles wow! There are stackable options, heart shaped bottles, and the list goes on. They would make a wonderful gift for the gin lover. Gooseberry Gin is delicious, so sweet yet a bit citrusy which kept the gin balanced and smooth and not too sweet. My List of favourite gins is ever expanding. And Gooseberry has earned a place on that list because it is just so delicious a perfect after dinner gin.

This weekend I plan to catch up a little, and have a chill out. Because sometimes you just need to relax don’t you? Have a lovely weekend whatever you are up to?

Did you manage to see the Christmas lights when in London? And what a lovely place to stay in!
Hope you have a lovely chilled weekend – the children are waiting for some snow here in Oxfordshire, but I’m not sure we’re going to get it any time soon!
