What a wonderful day we have had at the most breathtaking Cameron Lodges.
We awoke to the most glorious blue skies. I mean its November, and look at it? Today was always going to be special; we got the wonderful news that my beautiful niece and her boyfriend welcome their daughter into the world last night. And what is even more special is that she was born on her granddads birthday, something of a tradition in our family.
So a champagne cruise between the islands of Loch Lomond was very apt today, to toast the birth of my precious great-niece Aiyla. Eek I can’t wait to meet her. The cruise was so special, there is nothing like the feeling of being out in an expanse of water. It just makes you feel so relaxed. Our pilots Paul and Sam were fantastic and told us lots about the surrounding islands. And wow the views were just like nothing I have never seen, another glorious example of why Scotland has such a wonderful reputation. Loch Lomond is truly extraordinary. I have taken so many photos, but I will save them for Sunday.
Once our feet were on dry land we headed for an archery lesson with Scott, I don’t think he knew exactly what he was letting himself in for. We are a competitve bunch ha ha. And had a wonderful hour playing at being Robin Hood, myself a little unsuccessfully, Chris it seems is a natural , sickeningly so. In fact he hasn’t let us forget it since.
It has been one of those wonderful jam-packed chaotic days; we have swum, eaten, cruised, shot, walked and laughed so much. Sometimes you just need to get of that treadmill and spend time as a family away from all the distractions of life. And for that reason this week has been an absolute tonic. Thanks you to all the staff at Cameron Lodges the service has been exceptional. We have loved every minute we have spent in the glorious part of the world.
