My Weekly Round Up, And Sports Day

9th July 2016 by SarahJChristie 10 Comments

This week has been another whirlwind week, and has seen sports day and lots of organising a planning. We have given Joe’s room a mini makeover and a major sort out. I can’t believe how unorganised and untidy he is.

He never puts things away properly, just squeezes it into a box or any gap he can find. It took ages to sort out. He has promised to keep it tidy from now on, but I wont hold my breath.

Visiting Elvis And Room To Grow Bedding

This year was the first year in a while I got to attend sports day. Things like this make me realise how lucky I am to be self employed. It was lovely watching Joe and his cousin Kai in their races. And Joe was so thrilled so see me there. I so made the right decision, I cant ever imagine going back into education. And feeling that restricted ever again.

The thing that really stood out from the whole day was the reception class egg and spoon race. One little girl was so behind the others, I am talking way behind. The whole school cheered her until she made it over the finishing line, the noise was deafening. It was beautiful to see how the whole school supported her right to the end. She finished grinning from ear to ear and feeling no doubt like she had won. It was beautiful, thank goodness I had my sunglasses on because it brought tears to my eyes.

This is the only picture I can use as all the others have lots of kids on! But this is Joe and his best friends Fin looking cool and chilled before a race. I can-not believe how quickly they are growing up, this time next year he will be leaving primary school.

I have also been doing a bit of holiday shopping for Jack, he is getting to the age when everything is designer and costing a fortune. But I remember how important having the right clothes was at his age, so within reason I want to support him in developing his style. I am glad he is starting get a sense of how he wants to look. I know it is part of growing up, but some people never get that do they? I think the line is making sure they understand the difference between wanting to look and feel good for yourself and not for others. And not being pressured by media images of how you should look.  We have recently discovered Love The Sales, it has some great bargains on designer brands and when you have a teen that is into Ralph Lauren this site is a bit of a godsend.

My new dining chairs have arrived, and I cant wait to organise and share our new dining area. I love it, it is so much more modern. I am thrilled, it is exactly what I wanted to achieve.

The weather has not been so great this week has it? I saw on the news that there is a heat wave on the way, I so want to believe that, so am going with it. Apparently it will be with us next week and stay for weeks woohooo. Bring on the sunshine.

My Weekly Round Up, And Sports Day

I plan to spend this afternoon making cocktails, one of my best friends is visiting and we are going to test out my amazing new Nutri Bullet. I had a little try of it yesterday and was nearly hyperventilating. It makes real slushes just like the 7eleven used to make. Do they still make them? Their slushes used to be the best slush ever. Today I may just try a Mango Daiquiri Slush, I cant wait to share that one. I had better get my photos before I drink it ha ha. Have a fab week, and lets hope the sun shines x

So lovely that you could make sports day. Even though my girl’s only in year 1, the reception classes did look so sweet and little! I hope you’re right about this heatwave, I am ready for some sun! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

Oh I loved our sports day too, it’s such a special day isn’t it, with all the children encouraging each other. I love your little story, I would have had tears in my eyes too! I’m dreading the day mine become teens and start demanding the latest thing and designer labels – it’s expensive enough now! I think a Saturday job will be required! Thanks for linking with #WotW

Oh that would have had me crying too at sports day seeing everyone cheering on the little girl. Yep thank goodness for sunglasses. I love the makeover in Joe’s room, and he sounds just like another 10 year old I know very well lol. Boxes and boxes of stuff filled to the brim. Thankfully the teen is the complete opposite and really tidy. Have fun making the cocktails and can’t wait to see what recipes you make with your nutri bullet x

Ha ha I know because I was tearful it was so sweet. And yes I so wish they were tidier, Jack used to be so tidy but is slipping slightly lately too, although he did iron the other day x

I actually laughed out loud at your last paragraph. I am sensing you love slushies? LOL. If you have any other cocktail pins shove them my way as my board is going mental. I have another one in my head but it is getting it done and published that is the problem!
Thank you for sharing in #HappyDaysLinky x
