My Weekly Round Up And Sunshine at Brompton Lakes

What a difference a week can make? This time last week it was drizzly, rainy and I even put on the heating on one occasion. Today we and chilling, and the sun is sunshine at Brompton Lakes in Richmond. This week has most certainly seen warmer weather, and it’s been a long time coming.

But for now I will take what sun I can get, and be thankful it will be scorching hot when we visit Dubai in August. We are just waiting on our agenda, which we are all so excited to see.

There has been a touch of drama in the Christie household as Jack has broken a bone in his foot. I feel so mean as I sort of disregarded it and said you will be fine tomorrow! Then when it wasn’t I tried to send him to work saying it will be fine tonight. But he was adamant so I took him to the hospital. This is the 3rd ankle injury between Jack and Chris in 3 months, and every time we send the crutches back to the hospital someone needs them again within a week.

So yes, I was complacent. Memories of the last 2 visits, hours sat in casualty, X-rays to find it was just a sprain. I expected more of the same and was a bit grumpy about yet another visit. But yes, bad mother alert, it is fractured and needed a cast on it.

Not only do I feel so guilty, but also I am never ever going to hear the last of it. I don’t think I will risk sending the crutches back a 3rd time. I can’t face another day in a hospital. The staff were amazing, but are under a lot of pressure with not enough hours in the day.

I have also done a bit of cocktail making, my recipe will appear on the Iconic Lights site very soon, but it was so good I am thinking I may share it over here too. I do love a cocktail especially on a sunny day.

My Weekly Round Up And Sunshine at Brompton Lakes

Today we are spending a little time with my family at the gorgeous lodge at Bromptom Lakes in Richmond. Check out this view.

It is lovely to get away and chill sometimes. Away from the washing machine, school run and other daily jobs we have to do. And what a gorgeous location to chill with family, it is breathtakingly beautiful, and has everything you would possibly need. So for today I will be mostly chilling. Have a wonderful weekend.

Your lodge looks so gorgeous and tranquil, it must be lovely to be able to get away from it all .
Oh identifying a broken bone in the foot must be so difficult to do, as children are always bumping and hurting themselves. I hope Jack’s foot heals soon but I’m sure he’ll enjoy the attention from his school mates!

Sorry to hear that you ended up in A & E again. I can truly understand the desire to hold on to the crutches so you don’t have another incident occur. #WotW

Oh no poor Jack, but I think as mums we tend to brush things off. If we didn’t we would permanently be at the doctors or sat in A + E. I have loved following your adventures this weekend, as the lodge looks stunning, and I know it is a place we would love to visit as a family. Eek Dubai in August, how exciting !!!! x

Such gorgeous photos and love the one with the rainbow. Bless your little ones foot! Try not to feel too bad I’m sure many mums do the same. When Hubs was growing up he broke his leg and his parents didn’t believe him till the next day either… Though no he hasn’t ever let them, or his brother whose football tackle broke it, forget it! Xx

Poor, Jack! Hope he’s on the mend. I’m guilty of rolling my eyes at my eldest. Five years old and already he’s a bit of a drama queen prone to crying wolf. I can picture me having similar experiences to you in the future. Gorgeous picture of the lakes. Fancy being welcomed by such a beautiful rainbow. And yes to the cocktail post, please!!

Same here no broken bones either Sian I have been lucky, fortunately we visited the fracture clinic this week and they decided it was more ligament damage and removed the pot so he is very happy as he hated it x
