My Sunday Photo, Saint-Fargeau, A Quintessential French Village

Have you ever been anywhere and thought this is just perfect, in our case the village was the very beautiful Saint-Fargeau, A Quintessential French Village. It was just beautiful, exactly how you would imagine a French village to be in a perfect world.

Full of smiling faces, buildings that you just want to stop and staudy, spend ages taking in every beautiful detail. Laced with streams that pop up at intervals throughout the village. Paved with cobble stones, and buildings dressed with shutters with little heart cut outs.

Honestly, I felt like I was living in the setting of Beauty and the Beast. My favourite ever Disney film. But Saint-Fargeau, has more than Disney like qualities, it is real and beautiful. And just the simple things make it even more beautiful, our French is poor, almost non-existent much to our shame. Yet the locals made every effort to help us order food, navigate the village, even buying a cork screw in the supermarket.

The kindness that the people of this beautiful village showed towards our family during our stay was the real core of the beauty of this stunning village.  Yes, the beauty was there to see, the visual beauty is everywhere, but it was also in the heart and soul of the village and in its people. And that will always stay with us.

So very Gallic! Just as old English villages have a very particular look and feel, I do love old French towns too. You just know from the architectural look and feel exactly where you are.

Such a typical french village – pretty and empty! It looks like you had a lot of rain with that stream raging through, I bet it’s normally a quiet little trickle.

We had so much rain Phoebe but it never affected our trip, yes it would have been perfect if all the days were hot and sunny but we still fell in love with the region x

Its so breathtakingly pretty and I think I’d love to just stand there too and take it all in. I’ve been to Paris a couple of times but never to a French village like that.
